After all this time, I wonder if anyone is still complaining about WEN causing hair loss.  I find it hard to believe that this is the only hair product I have heard of that has caused such a ruckuss.  What ingredient caused the hair loss, if that was ever deternmined?  Just curious cause I still use WEN alternately with Tweaked.

I think people who experienced hair loss no longer use the product and many people who haven't used WEN won't take a chance and they won't buy it.

I bought it one time. I hated it and it made my hair look and feel awful. It reminded me of Vicks Vapor rub..

I gave it to my daughter and she loved it.

Everyone is different, Perhaps there was something that some people were allergic to in there. Maybe it clogged pores.  Who knows? People claimed it clogged up their drains too.

My own hair is straight, soft and silky.  I don't color; it is natural and healthy.  WEN's ingredients might have been too strong for me.  I didn't have any hair loss, but only used it one time.  It was gross. It wasn't for me.

I think people have moved on looking for the next miracle product for their hair.  There are so many choices.

SOOO many hair companies have had people claim that it caused hair loss. Look at Monat, they had a TON and I do mean a TON of lawsuits yet they are still growing like crazy every year. L'Oreal hair has, Paul Mitchell, you name it they all have so really the Wen Lawsuit was not unique and it was never proven anything in it caused hairloss.  I've used it over 15 years and I was just at the salon yesterday and they were raving about how healthy my hair always is, my hair is very long and my last trim was well over 10 months ago!!! I don't color so I don't need to go in as often. Even if I use another product (somethimes Tweak'd) Wen is still always my leave in, I ALWAYS use Wen as my leave in no matter what I'm using and Wen has always been my "staple" hair care for at least 15 years.

I sometimes use tweak'd shampoo/cond. when I am in a rush and need to get in/out of the shower quicker, my Wen just takes longer so I use it in a pinch but again, Wen is still my leave in. If it caused hairloss I should be bald, Chaz should be too and all his beautiful models.

@bargainsgirl I do the same as you.  I alternate with Tweak'd.  I actually really like both products.  IMO, I believe the people that were having trouble with hair loss was most likely caused by botanical allergies.  I know this as DH has these allergies and there are many products he cannot use.

@SandGirl

I'll preface this with I can't believe this topic still comes up.  I generally ignore it altogether but your response makes some great points.

I've used WEN exclusively for 10+ years and if it did cause hair loss, instead of my ravishing red curls, I'd have all kinds of bald spots, etc., etc., ad nauseum. Of course, I would simply have stopped using it and gone back to using Aveda, which I used for years before switching to WEN in November, 2012.

The only time shampoo/conditioner touches my head is when I go to the salon.  I know many say "take your WEN with you", but I don't feel like teaching her how to use it.  I do come home from my color/cut appt. and do a remoist treatment.

Like @SurferWife stated, I also am shocked this still comes up on the forums. It almost always means Chaz is soon to be in the house 🤔 🙄. I have been using WEN exclusively for over 10 years, maybe closer to 15 years by now.  I had fine hair when I started using WEN and guess what? I still have hair!  And in all those years, it has never clogged my drains, either…

What a tiresome topic 😐.
