Which of these two selections would be your choice for a fun, relaxing vacation and why?
I'm definitely a mountain girl and have a specific happy place. Don't like sand, sun or salt water so I wouldn't care if I never saw another beach. Going to the mountains is almost a spiritual experience for me.
This...
Or this?

Mountains! I love nature and love to hike. I am always in awe of God's majesty in the mountains! PS...I feel the same way you do about beaches. lol

No hesitation answering this question. Always the mountains. They nurture my spirit, while helping me revisit my free child. In my eyes, they're almost magical.

The Mountains! I grew up right beside the Appalachian mountains and they feed my soul in a way no other location does. I can go to a beach in the off season, but that's about it.

The ocean is my happy place, not necessarily the warm tropical beaches, I enjoy the cooler northern CA/Oregon coasts. I use to love to camp by the coast and hear the waves crashing, it was my happy place.

I was in the travel business from 1971 until 2015, so I think we hit most of the beautiful beaches and distant shores that we want to see-other than Alaska. I set foot on every continent. My idea of where to travel to now is here in the USA, national parks, the plains and mountains those are places we did not get to visit-and route 66!! We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway, and another time the Pacific Coast Hwy, both were amazing, we want to do more of those drives. I love being able to stop and enjoy a vista from the road, enjoy the air and the sun. . . I love the small towns and meeting the people, hearing the stories and learning the history.
But to answer your query....mountains. I long for the mountains.

I am thankful I have both within my reach as far as distance is concerned. I spent my summers in the mountains by a lake, I loved every minute I spent there. I am attached to the mountain area because of the many friends I made, lots of memories.
With that being said I also love the ocean especially in the fall months when it is quiet and peaceful and the vacationers are gone. It too is truly spectacular! As I have always said I would love to live where the mountains and ocean meet!

I would go to the mountains. I love the fresh smell and beautiful folliage. The wonderful trees. I have been to the beach many times as my mother lived in Florida for a time, but I prefer the cold as opposed to the heat.
