What to see: Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama

We will be driving through these states in a small motor home and we're looking for suggestions for places to visit, famous and/or off the beaten path.  TIA

We went to a wedding in Baton Rouge. My brother took us home (Pennsylvania) via Texas. He wanted to take us to one of his favorite restaurants.

Then we traveled on the Natchez Trace Parkway. What a nice ride. He wanted to take us to Beale Street to another one of his favorite restaurants. I think you will like The Natchez Trace Parkway.

We did a similar trip one summer a few years ago.  We started in New Orleans and saw all the sights.  Then, we drove to Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS.  This is a beautiful resort with a casino, shows, fabulous pool, incredible buffet, etc.  After that, we drove to Orange Beach in Alabama and enjoyed the ocean for a few days.  It was a nice trip.

I second this

The gulf coast is beautiful and this is a great time of year to visit

The crowds are gone but the beach is still gorgeous.

Can't do New Orleans in the summer unless you can tolerate 90% humidity so go & enjoy.  It's a walking town.   You can spend all day walking around enjoying the architecture & the food.

This would also be a good time of year to drive north of Alabama to Tennessee

The mountains are stunning.

Hurricane season is almost over, but be weather aware anyway.

Thanks everyone!  I’m going to print out info on your suggestions as we plan our route. 😊

@dex , I’ve wanted to do this trip for a long time. Dh was not really interested until recently. So, hang in there! You might just find it will happen for you, too!
