The Mob Museum is interesting.  Certainly gives you the understanding of Old Las Vegas.  While you're there, walk over to Freekmont Street.  Now that's a real eye opener.

The new Circa hotel is really nice.  The slots seem to be more loose downtown than on the strip..

Beatles Love and Michael Jackson shows are very popular.  I haven't been to the neon graveyard yet but it is on my to do list.

The Sphere is the new and popular attraction.  Costs big bucks to get inside tho.  You can take some great pictures of it if you ride the Linq roller.

We always visit the Bellagio conservatory.  It changes for every season.

Vegas has gotten to be too expensive nowdays.  They don't nickle and dime you.  They $25 and $50 you.  It's not fun anymore for cheapskates like me.  Drinks are $25 each.  A hamburger and fries lunch is $25.  We had a simple steak dinner that cost $250.  You get your hotel room rate then they take on a $45 resort fee and a $25 parking fee for each day.  The slots on the strip aren't paying out much these days.

You probably know that they are prepping for the Formula 1 race in November and traffic is dreadful around the strip.  Don't try to drive in it.  Taxi or Uber is the only way to go because they know the back streets.  There's also lots of construction on the side streets.

I'd love to see Adele but I'd have to mortage my house in order to afford a ticket.

There's a show at the Wynn that looks affordable.  It's called Awakening

There's lots to do depending on the area you're staying in.  I've heard lots of stories about some of the hotels.  And watch for bed bugs.

@NicksmomESQ @sunshine45

I also recommend Terry Fator! He's the best- I think I've seen him 4 times. He's the only Vegas show I've gone to more than once.

You can't go wrong with any Cirque shows. I think I've seen most of them.

Mob Museum was interesting. Just going through the casinos is fun. Each one has something to see- gardens & fountains at Bellagio, Gondolas at Venetian, Caesar's Forum with Neptune show, etc... I think a trip to Vegas is not complete without going downtown to Fremont Street. Free concerts & of course the light show.

Vegas is my "happy place." I went twice this year. I'm already thinking about how soon I can get back. Have fun!

If you have a car, Red Rock is a must.  About a 30 minute drive from Vegas and a completely different world.

@sunshine45 We saw the Zombie Burlesque.

My daughter & I went to Vegas to see a BTS concert (Actually we saw them 2 nights in a row!) & for some reason her husband booked us tickets to see the Burlesque on our free night.

It was very entertaining, but weird to be sitting in the 3rd row of a burlesque with my daughter.

The BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger at the Hard Rock Cafe was amazing & we went back a 2nd time.

@sunshine45   Not sure when you're going but if I were you heading to Vegas I'd be going the weekend or the week of October 20. One of the most prestigious auto races with world wide best auto drivers arrive in town for the first time - Formula 1 will be racing this particular weekend. Trust me, if I could be there for this race I certainly would be.

Now as for Cirque "O" - YES. I haven't seen this one but we've (husband and friends) have seen a lot of their shows. This one is performed mostly in and around water. The performers are unbelievably talented, their shows mezmorizing. I'd see this there too. If you go, treat yourself, spend money on tickets as close to the stage as you can - 3,4,5 rows back you too will be in awe of what they do and can do.

Neither of these two events would not be a gamble with your money!

WOW, you all gave me some GREAT recommendations!

i am actually headed there tonight.

this is our second time going this year.

LAS VEGAS has become my favorite "amusement park" because i am not into REAL amusement parks. just walking around the streets and in the hotels is an adventure! so much to see and do.....some free, some expensive.

we have seen LOVE and MYSTERE and have enjoyed them a lot, so we thought we might do O.

we have done madame tussauds, red rocks pink jeep tour, backstreet boys, donny and marie, and more.....

we are staying at the bellagio, so i get to see that conservatory every day. when we were there in january they had it set up for chinese new year and it was gorgeous! the weather is still nice and we should be able to get in some pool time also for unwinding.

we do already have some favorite places to eat and some we want to try. we know they are expensive and generally plan for no less than $100 per person for a dinner, and often even more.

thanks again and i appreciate all of the input. i will be checking back to see what else is recommended.

It's not the week of Oct 20, which happens to be today.

It's happening November 15-18.

You are so on point!  I can remember the FREE - 99¢ "real" breakfast & the $1.99  dinners no matter what you ordered!

Harrah's in Atlantic City is my 2nd home.  Luckily my stay on their Vegas properties is comped & the air fare is cheap.

My SIL 2nd home is the Bellagio.  When they invite me along I am on THEIR dime.

I was in Vegas this past March to see Usher at MGM.  WOW!  What a show.  I was fortunate enough to attend the "after party."

Hi, @sunshine45 !  We live in Henderson (Vegas burbs) and our son is visiting this weekend.  We're going to the sphere on Sunday -his treat.  May also go to Ethel M's chocolate factory, up the street from where we live.  Great cactus garden too especially at Christmas.

I've been to Vegas many, many times and not a big gambler ( slots only, never more than $.75 A pull). In addition to what's been mentioned we frequently stay at Orleans or Rio.  These have free parking ( A rarity on the Strip) and !movie theatres. The Gold and Silver Pawn Shop is worth a trip and we never miss several lunches at Lotus of Siam ( dinner is impossible without reservations ( one of top Thai restaurants in the country and surprisingly affordable). Near the Orleans, which is in/ near Chinatown, are many reflexology places, best massage of any kind and about $75 an HR plus tip. For best show prices go to one of several discount booths for same day tickets ( not every show but many of them).
