We want to take a 4 day, 3 night trip to Vegas and I am hoping to get suggestions where to stay please. Haven't been there in 14 years and it's a whole new place I'm sure. Any insight would be very appreciated.

Re: Vegas Hotel Recommendations

There are hundreds of hotels in Las Vegas.

Start here:

After you've narrowed down your choices to a few and can provide more specifics, folks who've been there more recently will have a better chance to give you feedback.

Re: Vegas Hotel Recommendations

We stayed at a "time share" probably 12 years ago and it was great we could have our meals and use the apt as our base, it no longer exits, it was a block from the strip and a perfect way to see Vegas

Re: Vegas Hotel Recommendations

We travel there 2X a year and stay at a place south of the strip about 3 miles called the South Point.  A lot depends on what you want.  If you gamble and like to people watch and like nightlife and action, the strip is the place to be. The different hotels have much to offer but are all different.  From high end restaurants and entertainment, some cater to the young crowd and have party at the pools and are very loud.  If you want quiet, stay off the strip.  If you're interested in downtown, that's where all the old hotels are i.e. Golden Nuggett, El Cortez, etc.  Figure out what you want and take it from there.

Good luck

Re: Vegas Hotel Recommendations

I don't know what part of the country you live in but, in the NE you can get great combination deals - plane fare/hotel/casino hotel.  Some include include meals & shows.

I take quarterly trips to Vegas but I always go through my travel agent since I always stay 7-8 nights which are tacked on to Vegas regular 3-4 night combination deals.

On & off strip hotels are pretty nice in my personal experience.  My favorite on strip casino/hotels are.....

Riviera

Bally's

Harraha's

Off strip

Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino

Old Vegas

Fremont Hotel & Casino

Mother's Day week I & my daughter stayed at the Bellagio thanks to my SIL.  Now that place is drop dead gorgeous & expensive.  I suspect my daughter & I were comped as SIL is a regular & member.

Truth be told, I have never had a bad Vegas hotel experience.

Hopefully, others can provide more helpful info and/or stayed in more hotels than I have on or off the strip.

Re: Vegas Hotel Recommendations

We were there a couple years ago, and stayed at New York New York.  Would not recommend.  We later stayed at the M Resort, which is a bit off the strip (not walking distance), and it was WONDERFUL.   The pool!  The spa!  The restaurants!  I can not say enough.  (They do have a shuttle to get you to the strip if you want.)

Re: Vegas Hotel Recommendations

We have been to LV several times to celebrate several milestone birthdays. We stayed at Caesars Palace each time mainly because we were there to see Celine Dion in concert. The place is huge...lots of shops, restaurants (Bobby Flay, etc.) You never have to go anywhere else unless you want to go sightseeing. We loved it!!

And, you're right across the street from the Bellagio fountains. Once we had a room overlooking the fountains and they were beautiful at night!

We stay at world mark on Spencer street. It’s a small quiet timeshare in a neighborhood location, with a shuttle that takes you to the strip.

Re: Vegas Hotel Recommendations

Honestly, it may be better to give an idea of the hotel’s/resorts you are considering vs asking such a general question. There’s just too many to select from, from a variety of budgets.

What are you planning to do? Stay close to the hotel and use the pool and spa? Are you going to see any shows? What hotel are they at? Will you have a car or are you planning to taxi/Uber everywhere? Walking is an option but everything is so far away and, if you are planning something soon, there’s 100 degree plus weather to think about.

Personally, I tend to stay central. I’ve stayed at Ballys, Flamingo, Caesars and Bellagio, with my latest stays in the last two. I’ve also stayed at Wynn for a conference, but that’s pretty far from things - although close to the mall. My co-worker will only stay at the Venetian, even calling Bellagio a dump when she stayed there for a family reunion. (Note - The Bellagio is not a dump!)
