Two days without hearing from our traveler, @Alter Ego. Perhaps she is on her way home.or is cruising without a strong wi-fi connection. Eager to hear what else she has been up to!

To recap from my last post...
It’s 8am Thursday morning. The ship’s captain is knocking on the port of Argostoli’s door. The port of Argostoli peeks their head out and says “no can do today”! My ship turns around and leaves.
We were literally 15 minutes away from docking.
There was just some unfortunate front that came through and really messed up cruise traffic in the region. Luck of the draw when you are on a cruise ship.
It did give me enough time to run down to my room, grab a few things and run back up to the solarium. For those not familiar with Royal, the solarium is typically an adults only area and often enclosed. Given the cool weather, it filled up very quickly!
This is for the cruisers out there.
Signs like this are always posted
But rarely enforced. But they were brutal on Thursday! I don’t think these people were gone long before security put a sticker on their chairs.
I can’t even tell you how quickly someone ran to grab the seat. I blinked and she was already seated!!
They actually were only gone for little more than an hour - certainly not all day like some chair holders. They didn’t put up a fuss - and if they did, I had photos!!
That was the extent of today’s excitement. At some point it was rocking so much they closed the pools and the bags came out!
They also opened up the solarium area to children. There actually weren’t many on board and the few in the pool area were well behaved.
We were all speculating where we would go. After all, not only were we looking, but other cruise lines as well. This very well may end up being a very expensive cruise of sea days!!!
But, did it??

Split, Croatia
We were lucky. Some ships were not. But, we had a beautiful day at a wonderful port!! Best weather day of the cruise.
I didn’t get any photos, but many of the homes had citrus and other fruit trees in their yards. One yard had so many trees in front, I couldn’t see the house!
Trojir
It was very nice in the main center. There were men singing, but every time I got near they would stop!

The church had a beautifully carved doorway. This was the first time nudes were included on a church.
Usually the artist doesn’t sign something created for the church (it’s created byGod.) But, not only did the artist sign the gate, he included his face on it!! LOL

Finally going inside the church! LOL

On our way to the old town, we stopped for another snack.

Around the old town walls of Split is an open market

Inside old town
There’s a crowd in the above photo because there was supposed to be a noon show. For some reason, they didn’t have today, so we moved on.
This photo is going through the arch in the center of the photo above.

Lunch in Split
One nice thing about doing a land vacation is being able to eat more of the local foods - a mix of fast and sit down meals. Didn’t have time to eat as much as I would have liked! LOL
