Re: Trip Report - Live from my Greek Island Cruise (September 2018)

It’s no fun being sick on vacation.  I missed the Sexiest Man contest to take a nap.

@Alter Ego LOL!!!

Well, Mykonos will have to be on a future trip for you, and be sure to include Santorini if you go again.

@Alter Ego   I saw parts of Greece by the Kardashian's vacation and the two cities they visited were beautiful plus they stayed in luxury accommodations.  They stayed in the city by the sea with the royal blue roof tops.  It was stunning.  I am sure you had a lovely vacation.

Common cold.  I may have felt it coming on last week and tried to quench it with vitamin C.  Then, I think I just did too much running around in Venice when my immunity was down.  Is not awful - no fever.  Just a sore throat and I feel sleepy.

I’m back!  Let’s get caught up...

Welcome to Corfu

We stopped for a photo op at Paleokastritsa Bay

We drove through Lakones, which is a cute little town with, I guess, one very narrow one lane street.  They installed a stoplight so there are no meetings in the middle.  There was barely room for the bus, coming within inches to the houses.

Asan FYI, my guide noted that many of the houses on the Ionian side were white or yellow with green or brown shutters.  This signified their connection with the earth (Corfu is the greenest of all Greek islands.) This differs from the Aegean Sea islands with tiger white buildings and blue (ocean) shutters.

Get thee to a nunnery.  We stopped by a Greek Orthodox Church in which three nuns live. All churches have two flags in front- the Greek and the church flag.

In addition to olives and grapes, one of their main crops are kumquats!
