This reminds me - it is my intention to post every day. Is just easier taking a little bit of time vs coming back at the end of the trip.
However, even though I have the premium Wi-Fi package, I can’t promise how good the ship’s connection will be. This is one of Royal’s older and smaller ships - needs to be in order to sail out of Venice.

Tried to get a lot in this morning. Check out time was noon (but I was told I could go until 12:30 if necessary.). I didn’t take any photos, but the hotel’s breakfast was very nice. Would absolutely recommend the hotel and would stay here again if I’m ever in Venice.
The hotel has a boat that takes you to the main island of Venice. From there, I walked maybe 15-20 minutes to the Rialto Bridge
Took the #1 Vaparetto to its iconic conclusion. Honestly, the first time I took it, I gasped. Venice is so achingly beautiful it’s hard to believe it really exists.

St Mark’s Square. Sorry - my guidebook is in the room and I really did a quick look around. I saw these sites in more detail years ago. Lines were crazy long!!

I just noticed that there was a person in a wheelchair in one of those photos. I actually saw quite a few people in wheelchairs. The vaparettos are all accessible and, I suppose one may miss some things or need to expect to take more time to get some places because they need to work with the bus lines, but Venice doesn’t need to come off your list if you are in a wheelchair.

Looks like a lovely trip! I haven't been to Greece (It's on my bucket list) but have been to Venice. I love seeing your photos & thanks for sharing!
I just came back the day before yesterday from an extended family (twelve of us) trip to Ireland. Gorgeous country!...not such great weather though but very friendly people. We had a wonderful time seeing the sites and staying in castles & B&Bs!
Now I'm back getting caught up with laundry & stocking up on groceries.

I then took the long walk back to where I was dropped off. Awesome views almost everywhere you look.
I say “almost” because you will still find plenty of plain streets.
Finally, my destination! My GPS kept messing up (or I was messing up?) At any rate, it was hard to follow.
It was back to my hotel to check out. It was a very busy non-stop morning. Felt good to finally sit down on the boat.
Although not new, the vaparettos were clean and well taken care of.

For cruise ship people, the #3 vaparetto line picks up right in front of my hotel and Piazzale Roma is the last stop. Other than getting on or off the ship, you don’t need to go up/down any stairs to get to the People Mover. I didn’t see it at first, but there’s a big red sign on the side of a building. 1.5 euro to get to the cruise port. It’s still a little walk to the ships - you will need your cruise pass to get past security even before you need to check in.
Neverless...
Venice: 1
My overweight luggage: 0

Finally made it to the ship!!
Scenes every cruiser knows...
A few room photos for people who haven’t been on a ship. This is an older ship, but newer ships aren’t that much larger. A window room.
Good enough for me!!
And that’s it for today! We’re late leaving Venice (there’s several ships leaving today) and I may miss the iconic sail away while I’m at dinner. Other than that, it may be a very early night for me - I’m very tired!! Not really jet lag, but just doing more than I usually do and haven’t slept that many hours since Wednesday.
But, I am listening to music from the islands...the Caribbean islands. LOL

Bon voyage!

To follow up from yesterday, I was able to see the sail away. Skies a little cloudy and it grew quite cold.
The passengers on Aida gave us a nice goodbye. Can you spot the guy in a towel? 😊
Sailing into/out of Venice is special. I remember my first time; it was early morning and my mother and I assumed we had missed it. Opened our window to the Bridge of Sighs.
When we left the day later, it was a beautiful sunny afternoon and we watched from the pool deck. One of the crew staff was watching with us - was the first time she was able to see it herself.
