Re: Trip Report - Johannesburg and Zimbabwe

It was the start of rainy season. This made the animals stay hidden in the bush - we still saw quite a bit, but sometimes it was the smaller wonders that took our attention.

Believe it or not, in the middle of this large group of baboons...

Was this little jackal.  Since there was no competition, they got along with each other.

Re: Trip Report - Johannesburg and Zimbabwe

Although we didn’t see the attack, we did see two lioness with their hard earned wildebeest kill.  A little difficult to get a photo to post here!  We watched them eat and sleep.  After awhile, one of the girls got up and carried the kill under a bush to keep away from scavengers.

Not very close by, we found this guy.

How about some elephants?

But, first, we need to find them.  I don’t see any elephants here...

Re: Trip Report - Johannesburg and Zimbabwe

Really, it’s not hard to find them. LOL

I have too many photos!  Hard to cut down.  Sigh.

Near camp, we had a waterhole.  I went to the nearby hide on my first night and I was surrounded by maybe 100 elephants.  Four groups converged at the same time. It was amazing!!

Not sure if you could tell from this photo, but they naturally lined up to get to the water.
