Re: Travel Chat - January 2018

@World Traveler and All,

Happy New Year Y'all !!

February trip to New Orleans in the works.  DH has a business trip and I am riding along.

I realize N.O. weather may be a bit questionable this time of year. (warm to cool w rain)

Hotel is Marriott on Canal Street which we have stayed in before a few times.

Suggestions are welcome.  We did take a great  3hour bus tour on/off a few years ago which was quite memorable.  Making my lists and checking them twice.  <G>

Keep Calm and Travel On,

CAT

@gacat123 What an exciting year to be going to NOLA!  May be too early for celebrations, but it’s its tricentennial this year.  Have fun in this great city!!

I had an exciting day!!

I had planned for my secondary trip this year to be relatively close to home (cruise out of Florida on a mega ship.) Well, I’m easily influenced (very easily!) Thanks to an innocent question from mom, I am now going on a cruise to Greece!! Cost is the same, although will now have to get airfare.

To be honest, I am not a beach person. Would certainly relax and enjoy them if I am there, but I think this is more my style. Am already looking at excursions and planning my days (something I wasn’t even thinking about before.) Sorry for bragging, but I’m so excited and figured everyone here would understand. ☺️

Anyone else been to Greece via a cruise?

@Alter Ego- I was just in Greece September.  I flew from Israel but did cruise the Greek Islands....i love Greece, the Azure water, great food and people.  It was very hot when we were there but a few days at night were very cold, especially Santorini can get very windy.

@Alter Ego- I loved Mykonos....Santorini is lovely but the steps, all 67, killed me during the extreme heat.  I always enjoy Athens
