Best area to stay in and best time to go?  Any info would be appreciated!!  Girls get-away maybe.  Things to do?  We are all in our 70's.

The 2 times we went to Bermuda we stayed in Hamilton.  I like to be able to walk to stores, restauarants, etc.  There was a shuttle to the Southampton Princess--we stayed at the Hamilton Princess--and that was enough beach time for us!!

I would not go in the fall during hurricane season and I think winter is a bit chilly.  April/May/June would be my choice.

Alternative is to take a cruise to Bermuda.  3 or 4 days there is enough, I think.

Bermuda is more "upscale" than the Caribbean islands and more expensive in my experience.

Have fun!!

Hi @bargainsgirl

Here's my two cents Smiley Happy

I was in Bermuda in late September/early Oct, weather was 80 and beautiful.  I went with my gf and we stayed at Grotto Bay, it's all-inclusive, all meals were delicious and all drinks are included, alcohol and non-alcohol.  We got water bottles numerous times throughout the days, which was great.  Also included were bus passes and ferry passes, which we used.  Bus stop is at the end of the resort, easy peasy.

Grotto Bay is about 5 minutes from airport and closer to Hamilton and St. Georges.  We're planning another trip back.

I was there last month with my dh and we stayed at Pompano Beach, it's much further up the island but beautiful.  Weather was unseasonably cool, for locals, but we were fine, it was about 70.  Breezy and it rained a bit, but didn't stop us from touring about.  We didn't use the pool or sit on the beach, but we really didn't plan to as it was winter.  We wanted cooler weather to see the island.  We did.

We had the MAP plan which included breakfast and dinner.  We used for some days so I'm not sure I'd do again.  Breakfast was buffet and good, nothing spectatular.  Dinner was always delicious.

I'd say, it depends on what type of vacation you want as to when and where you stay.  Do you golf?  Do you want to sightsee?  Do you want to just relax and enjoy beach/pool?

I don't find Bermuda any more expensive than any other island or vacation.  Honestly I paid less for 5 days in Bermuda than one week at Cape Cod.

I hope you go and have a great time!!!  I can't wait to go back!!

Look for deals, January is their Pink Sale which has good discounts.  But I booked in the summer and got some great deals too.  Just look around.  I used the Bermuda Tourism site.

I love Bermuda! I went years ago for my honeymoon and stayed at the Southhampton Princess.  I went on a cruise there last June and the weather was perfect.  I am going again on a cruise at the end of May.  There is not any begging in Bermuda, anywhere you go it is safe. It is absolutely gorgeous.  I highly recommend it.
