@LTT1 I'm a teacher too!  The conference my husband is attending is the National Agriculture Teachers Conference, he's a teacher too.  Thanks so much for all the information you posted.  I will definitely look into the things you suggested.

@blrc that sounds like a great place to visit.  I think I'll need a little exercise after all the eating I plan to do!!

@granddi thanks for the heads up about the traffic.  My husband would have LOVED to attend a football game, but we are still planning to visit Austin while we are there.

I'm not sure how far these two are from SA but friends toured the Shiner Beer Brewery and the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory and said both tours were great.   Esp. if you like beer and/or ice cream.
