Anyone been?  Just read an interesting article about it.  Not as crowded as some European cities.

I spent a week in Portugal many years ago and loved it.  It is a beautiful country, not just Lisbon, but also Estoril, Cascais and other places to see.  The people are so kind and helpful.  I would definitely recommend visiting Portugal.

What does this mean--not as crowded as some other cities?

Portugal is a historic country with many cities, and yes, some are extremely crowded during high season.

Portugal is easy to visit, the prices are very good, the people are nice, and so it has become much more popular.

There are always places in Europe that do not have a lot of tourists, the same as the USA. If you want to see the most popular locations in warm weather, expect crowds.  You can go in the colder WInter and some of the crowded areas could be almost deserted.

We now have over eight billion people in this world, and those who have the means are traveling a lot. Young people want to become online influencers, and show themselves  visiting diverse places.

Yes, I have been to Portugal several times, and many times to Europe.  I love to travel!

LOVE Portugal! I was on a committee that planned an out of country meeting there over 25 years ago for the American Society of Travel Agents. After the meeting I stayed and visited Fatima, but try to visit Cascais, the Algarve and Madeira. Fabulous country with great food and wonderful people.

I heard Portugal is very beautiful, in particular the islands in the Azores are less crowded.

I visited some years ago and think it's a beautiful country. Definitely a highlight was Fatima. I thought it was crowded but not stiflingly crowded. I had a bit of a problem with the language because I don't speak Portuguese but was with a local who led me through the towns. I love their tiles and it's quite beautiful to see all the buildings with the tiles. I liked visiting the old churches. Since I've returned, I've read lots about things I missed, I was only there for a bit over a week. There are places I'd like to see that I missed and would definitely return.
