@granddi , I agree!  I didn't hoard the miles and used them when with Hubbie when I had time off.  I made it to 6 of the 7 continents (we didn't have business in Antarctica). LOL. The world is a wonderful place but so much of it is difficult to get to these days.

My husband and I took our last plane trip five years ago, before Covid from South  Florida to California.  We did not take many plans trips before this, maybe only once a year but there is no longer any more plane travel for us.  Too much hassle from getting to the airport, checking in etc.  We now travel only by car and our next trip is from Florida to Nova Scotia which we plan on taking our time.  We will travel this way as long as we are able to drive distances but understand that as we get older that will end also.

Re: Planes are full!

[ Edited ]

Last month we flew from the southwest to the east coast. We took a direct flight, and flew first class. For us, it's worth the extra expense.

Flying coach is no longer a pleasant experience.
I used to travel for business, I can't imagine doing that nowadays.

Earlier this month I flew halfway across the country for a funeral.  I had NO problems.  I changed planes in Chicago on my way east and in DC on my way back home.  No delays, no cancelations.  Yes, the planes were full.  I gate-checked my bag on 3 of the legs of the trip and carried it on once.  These were small regional jets for American Airlines.

Love the Asian Air lines especially, Korean Air. I fly KA as much as I can; comfortable, clean & wonderful survive & flight attendants. When we went to Thailand, we flew to Seoul & then, Phuket. They held the flight about a half hour to allow for a passenger from another KA airline which had a flight delay due to weather. They announced the delay & then, bought drinks & snacks to the waiting area. Flew KA many times & no issues
