I just want to add something to the Paris-London trip idea. It's only based on personal experience but I'll pass it along. My first trip to Paris many years ago was part of a Paris-London vacation. I adore Paris. The first part of that initial visit was in Paris. It was love at first sight. Then we went to London. Of course I appreciated the visit. However, after Paris, London was nowhere near as beautiful. To this day, I say I should have gone to London first and saved the best (Paris) for last or, as another poster wrote, I'd spend the whole visit in Paris...or any other part of France for that matter.

Love Paris!!! My favorite city in the world. We just came back from 10 nights in France. Amazing trip again, no Paris though this time. We explored 3 new to us regions. Bordeaux- St.Emilion, Dordogne-Sarlat,La Roque Gageac,Beynac,Domme,Loubressac and Langedoc Roussillon- Carcasson, Colliure.  

I love everything about France!!!!
