Monet's home and gardens in Giverny. A trip outside Paris.

The Rodin Museum

Both are musts!

Google before you go.

@sunshine45

I went many, many years ago. I visited my Pen Pal, Marie Sophie. Her family took me to all the places you mentioned as well as Normandy & Le Mont St. Michel.

I would suggest you visit Notre Dame. I think they still have free tours. Have a fantastic trip!

You might want to get Louvre tickets online since lines there get crazy long.

Notre Dame

Decide if you want to go up in Tour de Eifel .  we did not but enjoyed looking up at sight.   Nice at night.

We loved eating outdoors and people watching.

We enjoyed the double decker bus tour to get overall view, then you can go back to see....it is hop on and off bus.

The bakeries!!!

Get clarification on tipping.  I was told it was not necessary and tip included.  But some waiters will try to convince you otherwise.

Re: Paris Bound....any suggestions?

We stayed at the Hotel Florida, we traveled by train into/out of center city and loved it. Saint Lazare is the most convenient rail station, it was a great location for exploring.  We saw a few off the beaten path sites, like the Pere Lachaise to visit Jim Morrison's grave and several others. We went to the Louvre on a free day, not sure if they still have those, but we didn't have the time to really see all it had to offer so we decided to forego it and see it when we returned to Paris...which we have never done. Sitting and people watch on the boulevard, Sacre Coeur, the Latin Quarter. . . get a good city guide book, a highlighter and then list what you cannot miss....I think that's the best way to figure it out. It's what I have done whether in Lima, Paris, Lisbon or Shanghai.

@sunshine45  Never been there, but how exciting! Iceland and Ireland are on the top of my list. I love that you and you daughter are going together. I wish I had had the opportunity to do that with my Mother while she was still alive. We were like best friends. Have the time of your life!

Someone already mentioned Mont. St.Michel  and Notre Dame -- I second those recommendations, especially if great architecture wows you. Both places are amazing!

Go on the river cruise after dark. It is a beautiful city. Everything you do will be amazing. The only thing I was not thrilled with was the food and I ate in some very high end restaurants. Although the croissants are worth every single calorie.
