I have been using packing cubes and packing folders for at least 30 years. I have a lot of them in many sizes.
I wouldn't travel without them. They have been with me on trips to Europe, Asia, the US, cruises, etc. and some of my trips were for three weeks or more.
What I like about them is clothing doesn't get so wrinkled. I can pack more and place the cubes sideways and every direction like a game of Tetris.
Also, when unpacking at your destination, I just place the cubes in a drawer or closet shelf.
They help you pack more.....probably more than you actually need. If TSA opens your luggage, you clothing isn't all riffled through. Intimates are not exposed or touched by others.
Thumbs up from me.

I started using them a couple of years ago when I chaperoned high school trips. When I had to be sure the kids were up, out of their rooms and had breakfast, I never had time to think about what to wear or where was it?
I also bring an extra one for worn clothes. I throw them in the laundry along with my clothes.

@gellen I read through all the responses at this time, I agree with the posts stating they are well worth it. I really had no interest then saw them on either HSN or QVC at a great price. I love them. They are not compression though.
I find they do not take up more room. I could easily pack outfits in them and you could put a ton of clothes in them. I didn't see this mentioned, it keeps the clothes nice and compact so they don't slide around and get messed up. This is really helpful when your luggage isn't packed tight.

I don't think they take up more space. What I like them for is organization.

You can wash your "unmentionables" in the bathroom sink using the complimentary shampoo...
(AND...there's always valet service available.)

I use them for my underwear when I fly. I hope the zipped packing cubes keep TSA from pawing through my intimate clothing!
IDK if it does, but it always LOOKS like they haven't opened it! LOL! ![]()

@gellen DH and I are avid travelers. I've been using packing cubes for over a decade and I would not be without them. They are great for keeping things organized and neat.
Especially when cruising and you have to unpack. I just take out the cubes, unzip and place in the drawers and closet. Then close and repack them when leaving. None of the clothing has to touch the drawer surfaces. We have traveled for a month several times and you need mix and match outfits so you can wear things a couple of times and light material intimates that can be washed in the sink, and hung to dry. They have small packs of laundry sheets for travel on Amazon, also the intimates I spoke of.
As far as packing "throw away" clothing??? I don't get that, to me it's silly and I don't own any clothing that I would just discard in this manner.

I got a free set from renewling my AARP membership and forgot about them the last time we traveled. Oh well........next time.

@LindaSal When my husband and I went to China, there was an older couple on tour with us who tossed their clothing away once worn.
Some of their items must have been antiques. I remember the kooky patterned shirts the man wore.
I had to buy an extra suitcase in China to being home the stuff I bought, while they just made do with one small suitcase each.
I supposed it didn't matter. The Chinese, except for the younger women, aren't known for their fashion, so they fit right in.

All,my packing cubes are Samantha Brown's line from many years ago.
I use them a lot.
Most of the time when I fly there will be a paper in my bag from security informing me that my bag was inspected after I checked it in. I don't like anyone touching my unmentionables or any clothing.
For my carryon, I put two nylon panties inside one bra. I pack for seven days. Two panties and one bra for one day, also with one thin pair of socks.
Three pairs of light weight ankle pants ( I'm short). Each cube will have one pair of pants with two tops. I have shoe bags too.
I still use curlers and use a cube for them and combes.
Lately I've been taking two carryon bags, depending on which class you fly.
When I get to boarding, I carry one on and the second is gate checked, I don't need to go to the luggage carousel.
I have practiced, packing what I think I'll need and what I actually need.
'You know those slippers you get at hotels and on certain flights? Perfect to travel with! I wash the bottom of them every day I use them when traveling.
It's taken me years to get my travel needs down.
