@joannecha we enjoy the UP too, but I've never been across the bridge. It looks scary to me!

Too bad you didn’t make it up to Houghton area.  Up to Copper Harbor.  Beautiful area of the UP!

I live just outside of Marquette and the colors are going to peak a little later this year than usual. Nice that you enjoyed your trip even if the color wasn't ready! There are many beautiful places in the UP. Please come again another time!

Jancade, If I am understaning you correctly you live somewhere near Cadillac, MI.  I am about 1 hour SE of you near Clare, MI.  Nice to meet a neighbor on these boards.  We're headed over the Mighty Mac this weekend to visit relatives for Christmas in NE Wisconsin.
