@GusMo, from JFK to any hotel in Manhattan is a flat rate via yellow taxi.  Remember you are still responsible for any tolls though.  The flat rate is $52.00 from JFK to any hotel address in Manhattan.

I flew into a different airport but.....

 

We took a cab from Newark to our hotel and including our tip it cost us $100.00.

 

We used Uber to get us from our hotel back to the airport and it was just under $75.00.

I'm leaning towards cab. Seems like the easiest.

We're staying in an apartment near Gramercy Park..maybe will UBER to the airport.....

I am a native New Yorker who flys out of JFK several times per year.  I take the AirTrain to the Long Island Rail Road, and take that to Manhattan/Penn Station.  If you have a lot of luggage or prefer a car, I use Uber - much better than the yellow taxis.
