Will be flying to visit DD in Seattle for 1st time...10 hrs. each way since no direct flight.

Besides some Xanax (a must for me on long flights), what’s changed in last several years about bringing food on or served anything on plane, carryon luggage, meds ( in bottles, etc.)?

Thanks.

The best thing for you to do is to go to your airline's website and read it thoroughly and also your airport's website.

Getting bits and pieces and 2nd hand info from a shopping  channel forum  from peole,  with random amounts of experience,  for something this important and ever-changing,  risks accurate important and  lawful information reaching you.

Ugh 10 hours...so sorry!

Re: LONG FLIGHT TO SEATTLE

[ Edited ]

Lizz...

Is right...every airline has different rules. Speaking of Air travel. My Father past goodness who knows? How many years. Has always drove, This year first time he has flown. Dad 94 spends winters here. Point is omy! He said flight awful no room. He's remembering past! Airplanes had plenty leg and seat space. Mind you Dad is not large. Safe travels sweet friend. Seattle is beautiful! Stayed at Four Seasons, Pikes Place. Space needle. Romantic experience years ago.

Suggest also checking the government TSA website for detailed information.  Wow  -- a ten-hour flight to get to Seattle  --  misery!  Bring a lot of reading material.  Also, suggest checking the Weather Channel website to check on the weather in Seattle  -- lots of rain & wind.  But try to have a safe & happy trip and visit with your DD.  Thanks

The 3-1-1 rule limits the amount of liquid you can bring on an airplane in your carry-on luggage.

Passengers are limited to using containers no larger than 3.4 oz. for their liquids. All containers of liquid which must be placed in a 1 qt., transparent, plastic, sealable bag.

Each passenger may have only one bag for liquids. Passengers can bring on as many 3.4-oz. containers as they can fit in the quart-sized bag when it is sealed.

Xanaz is not part of the 3-1-1- rules

@Shanus You can't take food or water through security but if you buy it at the concessions you can take it. Unless things have changed in the last 3 years.

I always keep a protein bar in my bag and they have never had a problem with it. Drinks have to be purchased once you are through security.

Meds in their own bottles with your name on them.
