My sister and I are going to the Jersey shore tomorrow thru Sunday (I think).  Her husband's family has a small home a block from the beach in Brigantine.  Maybe we'll see Bradley Cooper and his mom!Woman Wink  We are bringing 1/2 of a twin bed that was was in my 2nd bedroom when I lived in Lewes, DE.

It's been in my storage cube since I moved back to NY in October.  Today we tried to get the bed (mattress & boxspring) out of the storage unit and into her car (Outback wagon).  If someone was taping us, we could have revised the Laverne & Shirley show!Woman Tongue  A 70 year old (me) and 65 year old (her).  Her son, who lives nearby, was on standby to run over if we needed him.  We did it!  The funniest part was a young woman, who has a unit across from mine, happened to be outside when we came barrelling out.  She picked up the mattress like it was a pillow and put it in the car for us!

I was lucky to have lived at the beach for 6 years.  You would think I'm going to Aruba instead of a beach in New Jersey.  I miss that life so much.  I don't even care if it rains.  I miss taking beautiful sunset pics.  Always love seeing everyone's photos posted here.

Now let's see if we can get the mattress OUT of the car and into the house!  Wish us luck!

Haha!  I know!  I had air mattresses when I lived in the apartment above my parents.  I also slept on a real nice queen size Aero bed until I had bought a bed.

I'm hoping to purchase a condo, that's my plan instead of buying an extra bed.

Thanks for the reminder!Woman LOL

@roeroe1005 it sounds as though you and your sister had fun moving that mattress! Fingers crossed you removed it from the car without any issues...

I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip "down the shore". Smiley Very Happy

I was born in Jersey and although I haven't lived there in decades, I still have family there. As a child, I spent much time at the shore, Asbury Park, Sea Girt, Spring Lake and have many cherished memories.

Enjoy...

Hey Ladies!

Since yesterday (Sunday) was a beautiful day, we ended up driving home this morning.

It was a nice get away and I got to go to Wawa several times!Woman Very Happy  And bring home my favorite Wawa Diet Green Tree drink.  Gosh I missed them.  When I lived in Lewes, I could walk to the one by me.

The beach was beautiful; crowded, but you can always fit two more chairs.  The water was 74 degrees.

Sunday evening after we went for dinner, we stopped at a local ice cream shop called Richman's.  It was such a fun evening.  It's an ice cream shop with a burger bar next door.  Well, the place had an outdoor DJ.  The guy had to be in his 70's.  He played the best music - everything from 60's to Taylor Swift to Cupid Shuffle.  All the young girls were dancing away!  Even to Cotton Eye Joe!   We video'd it for my sister's sons and her SIL as there will be a lineup at the house the next few weeks.  She can't wait to bring her 4 year old granddaughter there.

And ... we got the bed out of the car and into the bedroom!  And we didn't break a thingWoman Tongue.

Mission accomplished!  And I got a tan out of it!

@roeroe1005 Sounds like you had a wonderful time!

Both my daughter and my brother happened to go to Lewes, DE to the beach this past week. (at different places)..I ended up cat & dog sitting for a few days!

As for Richmans' ice cream, I can remember there was a chain a long time ago and a Richmans in Cherry Hill, NJ where I grew up which was popular.  I didn't think it was still around.
