Did I read that correctly?
Someone working in the Dept of Interior didn't know New Mexico is a state? How did she get that job?
Aren't our schools teaching the names of our 50 states? I had to learn all the capitals.
@Foxxee Actually I have been reading this for years. Not about any specific worker, just that someone didn't know NM was a state. Sometimes I think it's just an urban myth.

@proudlyfromNJ It's not a myth, I've had it happen to me.

We live in Michigan but also own a house in Albuequerque, NM. I have had airline ticket agents ask me for my passport when I told them I was flying to New Mexico. I have also had someone ask me if our house is close to Cancun and if we have fresh water or need to drink bottled. It really irrates me!
