Got That Cruising Itch Again!

Just came back from a Royal Caribbean/Celebrity Cruise Night hosted by a local travel agency. Last week went to a Princess Cruise Night.  Have not cruised for 4 years and always sailed on RC but there are some fantastic deals out there, on all 3 especially

the Caribbean which surprised me.  RC rep said they just had a cruise leave from San Juan and from other islands also.  Am eyeing Alaska and also New England/Eastern Coastal Canada for next year.

Kudos to Royal Caribbean for their humanitarian efforts during Irma--taking employees onboard and out to sea to evacuate them and for taking evacuees and survivors onboard in the islands as well as delivering much needed supplies.

I do agree that RCCL deserves many kudos for their actions during the recent hurricanes.  HOwever that old saying "YOu get what you pay for" is true.  THe quality of the food aboard the RCCL ships has dropped substantially over the last few years.  I much prefer Celebrity as I think they offer a better quality product that RCCL.

DH and I went on our first cruise in May on RCL.  I thought the food in the dining room was good but I didn't like the buffet food at all.

I love cruising. In May I did an 8 day Alaska and this past Sunday got home from an amazing 15 day Hawaii cruise. Both were amazing cruises.

I see where cruise lines are returning to Puerto Rico and other places impacted by Irma.  Please be aware that you will probably only be able to visit San Juan and other port cities.  I would be very surprised if you're are offered to outlying areas (such as rain forests) since roads and utilities are still out.
