We are going to Greece in May for our granddaughter's wedding.  We have never been out of the states.  Could anyone please suggest attire for Greece in May and places to visit.  Thanks.

That’s exciting. I’ve never been there either but make sure your passport is up to date.

Good for you!

I love Greece, but May is a tricky time.  I’ve been there in May when it was HOT!

However last May when I was there it snowed!!!!

Depends on the area, mountains or sea.

You might want to have two outfit options ready just in case.

I love Greece !  I won a trip there for a sales contest many years ago.  It is beautiful.  We went to Patmos, Mykons, Santorini (BEAUTIFUL) and Koz.  We were on a Star Clipper ship. It was magnificent and one of my best vacations ever.  Enjoy.   You MUST go to Santorini.  It is breathtaking!!!

Lucky you.   Greece is wonderful.  We lived there for a little over two years and have visited many times before and after living there.

May is tough to predict depending on where the wedding will be.   It can be warm in the day but is almost always cold enough at night and early morning to need a sweater or light jacket so I'd plan to wear something that you can add/take off a top layer.

On my first trip to Greece in the 80's we arrived Memorial day weekend and had to buy jeans, a sweater and jacket the next morning when the shops opened.   Layers were the key.

Enjoy this wonderful country.

Normally it is hot there in May.  But considering  craziness of the weather everywhere watch it on Google closerto your trip. As for your wedding attire, I would wear something dressy and blingy, with bling jewelry. And bring some scarf or pashmina for your dress in case of chilly night. Enjoy!

I visited Greece in the last two weeks of May many years ago.   It was very hot - in the 90's in Athens and a little cooler at night in the islands.

As other posters have said, Greece is a beautiful country.  One of my best vacations ever.

Enjoy!

I lived on the island of Crete, Greece for 2 yrs., my husband was in the military and we were stationed there.  It is warm in May, but not really too hot.  I would suggest comfortable and casual clothing, maybe a little dressier for the wedding but if it is going to be outside, not too dressy.  It is a beautiful country, hope you enjoy!
