Borgata at the Marina, it is a beautiful hotel and away from all the Boardwalk stuff. Its a newer hotel and it is beautiful, we stayed there a few years ago

     We used to live in the Philly area and always stayed at the Borgata.  It is wonderful.   The first time we went it was last minute and we stayed at the Tropicana , I think.  It was a dump.  Then the Borgata opened and that was it for us.

@Bridgegal  You are right, Tropicana is a dump.

Re: Going to Atlantic City- any hotel recommendations?

I've been going to borgata since they opened, about 20 years ago. I have a host who makes all my arrangements, I am a platinum card holder.  We go about twice a month. I can't tell you enough great things about this property, it's so clean, non smoking on the floor as of two weeks ago (that could change though) they take safety very seriously. There are hand washing stations throughout the casino, where you can also get new masks as needed. I have been to the boardwalk many times, and, I love it there, love ocean, hard rock, ceasars, love the beach, just everything about being down the shore.  But it has changed since covid.  It's definatly not as safe as it used to be, I would stay away from there at night for sure.  But it's an easy, cheap cab ride from borgata to the boardwalk, correct me if I'm wrong, but last time we cabbed over it was a flat rate of 7.00 I think.  (That was in June, it may me more, but it's cheap, I'm sorry I don't remember). Borgata is imo the best place to STAY, the safety, cleanliness, service, restaurants, everything about it it's too notch.  So if your looking for a great place to stay, and easy access to the beach, about 5-7 minute can, you can't go wrong at borgata.  Hope this helps, deb

Parking is 10.00, in and out, just pay one time, but I think they were waiving that, you'd need to check with customer service about that.

I was able to snap a pic undercover of the hand washing stations during my recent stay at Borgata.....

They are all over 👍 borgata is number one in taking safety seriously!  TU for the pic!  I can't stress enough that the boardwalk is not a safe place to be, especially at night, but if you really want to go there, go during the day, take a cab, they're cheap, but stay in a property off the boardwalk, any one, I do recommend borgata though. And don't forget, your there to have fun, it's different right now, but your fun is what you make it! 👍

I have been going and staying at The Borgata for the last several years and it is great. That being said, as everyone else that has posted praises of the Borgata must know, they do have an issue with ventilation in their casino. Because it is small, and I have a sinus issue,  you can smell the smoke throughout the casino. Even when dining at The Metropolitan restaurant which is a good casual restaurant;  because it is open and extends out into the casino the smoke is bothersome; to me anyway. The other restaurants don't seem to have that problem.

I have been to AC several times and find the Boardwalk too honky tonky and sleezy it is easy to drive and park and walk around the Boardwalk. Twice we have stayed totally away from AC in Brignatine and enjoyed the nightlife and gone back to quiet

Thanks- The Borgata is on our list but it wasn't as close to Boardwalk as I thought. I would like to be walking distance.

I have to agree with you about the boardwalk there...unless things have changed in recent years it can be a bit sketchy.

@KBEANS

We got back last week. Had a great time. We stayed at Hard Rock & it was very nice & clean. Like most casinos they take your temp as you go in, I don't like smoke either. I believe most, if not all, casinos are smoke free because of Covid & wearing masks.

Everyone praises the Borgata. I will have to try that next trip. For us it was just easier to stay on the boardwalk. Gotta say we walked, in a group, at night on the boardwalk. There really weren't many people around. I felt safe. I don't think I would have walked alone at night.

Re: Going to Atlantic City- any hotel recommendations?

@KBEANS  N.J./AC casinos are 25% occupancy now.  Also, no smoking on "casino floors."  You CAN still smoke in your room.  You can also request a 'non" smoking room.

Borgata:  On my recent trip there, Metropolitan & the Buffett were closed.

The Old Homestead & other upscale restaurants - reservations ONLY.  Only 25% occupancy.

All the other restaurants were fully open including the food court downstairs.

All the casual restaurants did take-out.

Food trucks outside w/tents to eat outside.

I personally ordered take-out & took the food back up to my room to eat.

Room service:  Your food arrives in take-out boxes.  Believe it or not, my food was still piping hot upon arrival.  I always do room service breakfast.

I suspect all the casinos are doing this for room service.  At Harrah's my breakfast arrived in takeout boxes.

Regarding Tanger's outlets:   As the train station tram was driving through there, the place was like a ghost town! Smiley Surprised  I asked the driver if it was open & he stated it was but on limited hours 9-4p.

The small number of people I saw in the streets were NOT wearing masks.  I did see some put one one as they were going inside the stores & immediately removing them upon leaving. icon_exclaim.gif  I gather they thought masks not needed if the streets were empty.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Thanksgiving week I will be staying at Resorts & checking out The Hard Rock.
