Re: Going to Atlantic City- any hotel recommendations?

@Mz iMac

Thank you for all the info! I've heard nothing but good things about the Borgata. I just want to be able to walk to different casinos & not have to drive a lot. Plus with 3 of us I have a feeling I'll want to go to bed before the other two. So in the evening I would just stay in the casino where we have our rooms. Then I don't have to venture out alone at night.

I live in NY so I'm used to wearing a face mask & social distancing. I appreciate your taking the time to give me all the info. 😀

All the casino hotels are nice.  The newest casinos on the boardwalk are Ocean Resort & Hard Rock.  The Ocean casino/hotel is huge.  I kept getting lost in the non-casino area. Smiley LOL  I stopped counting their pools at 4.  Under the previous owner that place had 12 pools. faint.gif

Ocean is the last casino on one end of the boardwalk

Hard Rock is the 3rd casino from the end.

Since you want to take advantage of the boardwalk, I highly recommend that you stay at Caesars.   Caesars staff are "dabomb."  Best customer service on the boardwalk as far a casino hotel.

It is right smack in the middle of the boardwalk, across the boardwalk from Ocean Mall (3 stories) & best of all 2 city blocks (off the boardwalk) from Tangier Mall (Factory Outlet).

Take a cab there & back.  You will have to many shopping bags to walk back. Smiley LOL

Whichever casino you decide, make sure you check out their promotions.

FWIW:  Some casinos have AARP, Senior, AAA & Military discounts.  I think all have the latter.  From I have been told, you have to request/ask over the phone if NOT listed on the casino website.

I live an hour's ride from A.C.  I'm there a lot.  Next week is my next vacation there - Borgata - which is my mother's fav.

Glad I could help.

I saw the Ocean Resort but didn't realize it was a casino. Hard Rock & Caesar's are two we just discussed today. And Bally's. I remember I liked their casino years ago but never stayed there. Thanks for the tips about calling for discounts. I did see one website gave a 35% discount for essential workers. We will qualify for that.

I hope the slot machines pay out a little. 😀

Bally's is connected to Wild Wild West casino.  You do not need to go outside to go from one to the other.

Ceasars is connected to the Ocean Mall.  No need to go outside to get from one to the other.

Resorts & Hard Rock casinos are also connected the same way.

Tropacana anchors the "casino" boardwalk on one end & Ocean casino anchors the other.

Re: Going to Atlantic City- any hotel recommendations?

Ocean Resort is huge and very pretty.  I have never stayed there but the restaurant Dolce Mare was very good with windows from ceiling to floor overlooking the ocean and boardwalk.  My husband and I also like staying on the boardwalk and usually end up at Caesars, the Centurion Tower.  Those rooms have a TV in the bathroom mirror....very enjoyable when I'm getting ready.  The mall is almost totally deserted.  So sad because it used to have very high end stores.  I understand the outlets (which are near Caesars) do well.  Caesars is attached to Ballys and like someone mentioned, they are located in the middle of the boardwalk.  At night we go to the Hard Rock because they have some great bands playing.  The steakhouse there is very good.  Let us know where you end up.  By the way, I don't gamble so I walk the boardwalk a lot.  I have never felt unsafe.  There were security guards on every block and a tram you could take on the boardwalk to go from hotel to hotel.  The Quarter at the Tropicana is enjoyable to shop at.  Enjoy!!!

My friend booked Bally's but then I read some recent reviews & there were a lot of complaints on the rooms not being clean. She's canceling that reservation & going with Hard Rock. Their reviews are awesome. Plus your info about them being connected to Resorts was important. That was why we did Bally's- wanted the option of going to another casino without venturing outside after dark.

Thanks to everyone for giving me info. Now I just have to figure out the parking. I want to park at hotel but don't want to be surprised with a huge parking bill after 4 days/3 nights, I stayed in Boston once & the parking was more than the room.
