Has anyone gone on this tour?  We are going to see "Gypsy" as well.  Staying at The Fitzpatrick Manhatten.  Nice area.  Any restaurant suggestions?

You need to go to The Campbell which is a hidden gem in Grand Central Station.  Look it up on the iternet.  Great for drinks or food and jazz.  If you love oysters.......Grand Central Oyster Bar is known for them!

Ellen's Stardust diner , West 51 Street in the theater district, know for it's singing waiters and waitresses....breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Lots of fun!

I never heard of this tour so I googled it.  Very highly rated.  As a native New Yorker I am very familiar with this area--we have an apartment on East 87 Street--and if I were capable of walking for 2 hours, I would do it in a nanosecond!

Go and enjoy!  Sounds fascinating!

Ohh, that sounds like a really fun tour!!  Please come back and let us know your thoughts on it after the tour. Have a fun time!

The weather is nice right now, as long as it's not raining which we have had a lot of recently.  I'm about 1-1/2 hours out of NYC.

@evelyner   I'm looking forward to going to the Frick also.  I was there a couple of times pre-renovation and I love that museum.  Not so overwhelming like the Met.

The OP could do the walking tour and then go to the Frick.  What a perfect day!!!

My experience Ellen's Stardust @Somertime

The experience depends on where you sit.

Go there for the novelity not for the food.

Probably a wait in the outdoor line.

We enjoy McHales Bar and Grill W 51st near theatre.

We began the tour but never finished it.  One of our group had a problem with her prothesis and therefor was struggling to walk the tour. (and the weather was cool and wet)  When we returned home we contacted the tour provider and explained what happened.  They gratiously refunded our money!! 5 stars for them in my book!!   I will try it again the next time we visit.

@bargainsgirl  That was so nice of them. I'm sure their terms of service say something about no refunds, so shows how great a company is when they put the customer first.

How was Gypsy? I've seen Audra McDonald a few times and her Tony performance was electric. I haven't seen critic reviews, but have seen not so flattering comments about the show itself in random internet posts (so taken with a grain of salt.)
