Frontier Airlines Fall & Winter Pass

Not a recommendation. I've never bought this.

Go Wild! Pass.    9/2/23-2/29/24.     $299.

Fly as often as you want.  Anywhere Frontier flies. LOTS of small print.

I wouldn't fly Frontier, Spirit, et al if they paid me to fly!

I like to travel. Frontier is one of the Airlines that is on my "Do not fly ever list".

Re: Frontier Airlines Fall & Winter Pass

Haha, no way. We have had terrible experiences with Frontier. Even my daughter had an interesting situation. Frontier cancelled her flight to visit us in California from Colorado. She booked months in advance and it was cancelled, for no given reason, days before her flight.

She requested her money be refunded since she had to fly on another airline and Frontier had cancelled. They refused a refund but offered her a trip to San Francisco instead. She said she didn't want to go to SF she wanted to visit family in San Diego. They told her that is what they could offer and that San Francisco was a very nice place to visit. She was not happy.

Re: Frontier Airlines Fall & Winter Pass

I have flown Frontier a few times.  I never had a problem with them.

A few years ago, I passed up flying with them because their baggage fee was too high, IMO compared to a price I got elsewhere.

Even If you only fly once $299 is a great deal.  I'd check the small print though.

@cjm61.  Did your dd ever get her refund?  That sounds like a case for the FAA.  Surely she was due one under current regs.

Frontier is notorious for horror stories.  Too bad because years ago they were a nice little airline.

Re: Frontier Airlines Fall & Winter Pass

I only travel Frontier not only did I just book all my flights including  holiday travel -- prior to covid I travelled 4-5/month with them.

It's very convenient as it goes directly into my regional airport and family is 10 minutes away.

I've never had a problem.  Then again, I don't take luggage (just a few things in tote bag) so my flights are super cheap.

This is what I just paid for one-way fare --   Can't beat .07 airfare🙂🙂.  I booked 3 r/t flights (total $37.96/trip)

Re: Frontier Airlines Fall & Winter Pass

I flew Frontier problem free for eight years.

What I have experienced this summer and so have many others is with the promotion, many flights are available to certain destinations which before only had one a day.  It seems like many are getting cancelled probably because they are not reaching a capacity to make them profitable.  Recently I have gotten stuck and with a several hundred dollar cost to get to a destination where I needed to be.  I have reluctantly used Frontier but with caution.  I go ahead of time and take a plane that is early.

I am going to cancel my Frontier credit card and stop using them in a few months.

I have also had a roll on bought because it fits under the seat.  This is seven years old.  In June I was made to pay $100 at the gate, I had nothing else, just this.  A month later, a lady got on a plane, she was two behind me with the EXACT case plus a carryon.  I looked in my old receipts and Frontier changed the size for PERSONAL item. Coming back last week, someone got on the plane with a full size suitcase!  The flight attendant questioned it.  It is hard to blame the gate attendant when they are working alone.  Frontier is hiring!  They have to staff the 100 new planes.

Wait... I just can't with that story. Umm... we will not fly you where you the customer paid to go but why don't you fly to this other city, because we believe it to be a nice city. What???

Since you live in San Diego you know that the drive would be a minimum  of 10 hours  on the 5 freeway, you can shave off perhaps two hours on the 101. No, that would have been a hard pass for me as well.

I hope she pushed that. I would have filed a complaint and received my money back. That is completely unacceptable, and reinforces one of the reasons why I would never fly on that airline.

@icezeus and @Kachina624

Oh, yes, it was the most ridiculous thing we've heard from an airlines. When my daughter declined the San Fransisco offer they actually couldn't understand why she wouldn't want to visit.

This particular daughter can resolve just about anything, she's an attorney. I honestly don't recall the outcome but I am sure she got compensated in a more acceptable way. I will have to ask her when I see her. I just don't remember, it was a few years ago.
