Here's a link to VisitPA and the best places to see the foliage here.

I like to drive along River Road near and through New Hope in Bucks Co., PA when the leaves turn.  It's right in my backyard.

I live in upstate NY, and would like to recommend Letchworth State Park ("the grand canyon of the east" - I kid you not.)  It will take your breath away in late Sept/early Oct.

@Mj57

How far upstate?

Anywhere from Central Park in the city all the way up along the Hudson will be beautiful if it's a good year.

Also, Vermont and New Hampshire.

You have to be specific because peak will be different weeks depending on where you go.

Personally, I love the Hudson River. There are cruises available to see the foliage, too.  Day trips, week-long trips, etc.

I live in the Finger Lakes area of upstate NY. Fall colors are glorious. Peak comes in mid October. I imagine it comes earlier in Maine. Check websites.

Today the weather is perfect, not a cloud in the sky, but the colors are only just starting. Three to four weeks from now it will be spectacular.

Re: Fall colors in the east?

Another Upstate NY gal here!  We're close to the Adirondacks so we go there several times during the fall season.  This weekend is expected to be peak in the northern region of the Adirondack park.  We went for a drive this past weekend and it was really beautiful already.

I visit "The Foliage Network"  website and find it to be pretty accurate as far as peak times for the different areas.

Hope you get to do some leaf peeping soon!
