My Grandmother used to have that type of cosmetic case in avocado green.  She had it for many many years. I had totally forgotten about that.

I had them. I wish I still did. We called them train cases. They are much more practical for cosmetics and grooming products than the soft cases we have today. The tray in the top that lifted out so that all of my cosmetics were flat and at my fingertips was my favorite design feature. I wish I could go back to then'50's and '60's to do some serious shopping knowing how many things would be so different now.

My mom had a blue one!

DH gave me this shortly after we were married. It's been around the world, and on and off planes and trains. I still use it, and I have always referred to it as my "train case" !

I see they're calling it "vintage"!

@beach-mom  I have the exact same "train case"  It was a gift from my mother-in-law in 1973.

I used mine back when I went camping.  It was great to take to the campground bathroom because mine was plastic and therefore waterproof if I had to put it on a wet floor.  And it was the perfect size for all I needed to have with me to get ready for the day.  I still have one that was my MIL's.

@beach-mom   Yes, I still have mine...I can't seem to part with this piece of luggage. I had matching set, gave away all the pieces, but kept the train case.

I still have two somewhere in one of the closets.   Loved them, as they made me feel very grownup!

Now I think I will take a trip up to our huge attic, filled with stuff.  The place that time forgot.  Who knows?
