We are planning a trip to Disney in June. Son ,DIL and three month old grandson.

Husband and myself. Not sure this is a good idea. What are your thoughts?

Has anyone ever taken a child this young? Suggestions please

First, consider the weather, could be extremely hot and humid, we went in August and it was simply awful and unbearable. Will be very long days with a baby that young, I could never do it, but the younger moms today are much more flexible than I ever was, I see it with my daughter and her two very young children. If it was me I would wait until the baby was old enough to actually enjoy it, my youngest was 4 when we went .

@crazered  -  We go to Disney World a LOT, but we NEVER go in the summer months.  Personally, I'd wait.  Depending on where you live, you may not be used to the unbearable Florida heat and humidity in June.  The crowds will be higher and I wouldn't, and never, took our children that young.  We waited until they were 18 months (even this was a bit early for rides), but we also had a 4 yr. old at the time.

Lines can be long for rides, food, and drinks, and in the heat, that's not how I like to spend my time at Disney.  Also, if you haven't been to Disney in a long time, unless you really research, it's a lot of planning to book dining and Fastpasses.  Disney is so much fun, but you're entering the belly of the beast in June!  It's your money, but I'd wait until your grandson is older for him and all of you to enjoy.  When you do go though, I hope you have a fabulous time!  Disney is our happy place!

@crazered, I live in Orlando and made the mistake of visiting the parks one sum mer....never ever again..the weather was too hot and what I didn't realize was there is no shade!!! This is quite a problem when waiting in line for the rides.. Should you decide to go...please do not make the mistake I made...wearin a long 100% cotton sundress..I had a heat rash so bad..I began to bleed....they have First Aid stations arround the parks...but the gauze and tape given to me wouldn't stay affixed to my thigh! My other concern is the baby...will they allow the baby on the rides?

On a brighter note, there is a group called Jody finds the Travel Deals on facebook...Deals on the parks and resorts. Have fun!

@gracie2014, @crazered  -  Forgot to mention standing in line for rides (sometimes 30 to over 60 minutes) and there are SO many people waiting in the queue with no breeze and very little shade, it gets HOT!  Makes me sweat just thinking about it!

We had a few days of summer this week in Florida -  high 80's at least (one day my car thermometer read 99 for a few minutes) and humidity.  No way would I want to be walking around any Disney parks and I can't imagine any time I'd want a tiny baby with me;  I just can't imagine subjecting a child that tiny to such a day.  I'd be waiting until he could participate in the experience.

Is this the only time they'll ever get to go? Do you think you'll become the unboard baby sitter so they can ride the rides (kids)? If you do go be sure that baby won't be getting a sunburn. That would be so painful for a 5 month old. Grandma, I think you're right. Too young for that. Is it one day or longer? Why don't you stay home and sit the baby and let them go? That would solve a lot. That's a lot of walking as you get older!!!

@IlliniGirl88 exactly..and with the baby.. will someone have to wait in the heat with the baby while the others go on a ride?
