Used to live in the area many years ago.  Plan to visit soon and want to know how safe the historic/ dock/ downtown area is?  At night as well as during the day?

I was there less than a month ago, and had no concerns over safety.  We were there during the day.

the biggest issue, was finding parking.  We persevered and finally found a spot after about 20 minutes of looking.

One thing about Annapolis. It is a large part of what a lot of the money  from MD is put into this city.

The streets, the storefronts, the docks.

The courthouse is also nearby and nice bed and breakfasts.

It is also the Capital of Md.

I have always felt very safe there though I haven't been there for awhile.

And definitely agree about the parking. You have to find a side street that is ok to park on and might have to walk a ways.

We are 15 min from Annapolis. Downtown/historic is generally quite safe IMO but there was a stray bullet/drive by shooting that killed a Midshipman's mother at The Graduate hotel a few weeks ago. It was an anomaly and they caught the suspect.

Parking is awful downtown.  Best to leave your car at hotel and walk/Uber.

I appreciate all of this information.  Thank you for helping me.

Another question?

Does Annapolis still have the multi deck parking garage near the dock?  Is that a problem to find a spot now?  Used to always use this but that was many years ago ?

Yes, to parking garage downtown.  We also park there when we visit our kids.
