One of our favorite places to eat in Albuquerque was Taco Sal's on Menaul Blvd. Doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food is spectacular. Standard New Mexico dishes and our favorite was the stuffed sopapilla with chicken and green chile. Have never been able to find it anywhere else. Sadie's was another favorite. You will love the weather in ABQ.  I never made a decent cake the entire time we lived there due to the altitude....never could figure it out!

I have never been to NM... Albuquerque, but just last night Newsmax talked about it and the noticable crime raging.
I shrug my shoulders not knowing but then I'm 100.miles from Chicago which is a warzone.

I've lived here since 1995.  Crime is rampant.

For what it's worth, Chicago is my hometown.  We picked up and left when I was ten.  That was 1970.  Why?  It was becoming too dangerous.

If you want a sample of ABQ crime, check out the website ABQ Raw.  News, frankly, that won't appear on our local news sites.

This city has potential, but it has been squandered.

Decent climate, though.

The cartels are operating freely in the state.  Methamphetamine and fentanyl use is out of control.  Alcoholism is also a huge problem.  A large homeless population, lack of resources for the mentally ill (I work in psych and we just don't have enough beds or providers), road rage, gangs, high murder rate, shootings and stabbings, auto theft, highest rate of vehicle vs pedestrian deaths, out-of-control shoplifting and vandalism (businesses are closing), assaults, child and animal abuse...

The ABQ Raw website has more information than our local news sources.
