The Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Hotel is spectacular. It has six restaurants, a casino, horseback riding and an 18-hole golf course. The place is so beautiful.  Mescalero Apache Tribe owns it. Located on the reservation, near Ruidoso.

So far the weather has been cooperative.  As long as there's no wind, the Fiesta should be a good one.

Friday is Special Shapes Rodeo!

A crowd gathers around colorful hot air balloons, including one resembling a green character, under a clear blue sky at a festival.

A hot air balloon shaped like a helmeted head floats against a clear blue sky, with a person in the basket below.

A colorful clown-shaped hot air balloon soars above green fields, with a person in the basket and an American flag hanging.

A colorful armadillo-shaped hot air balloon with a hat and scarf floats in a clear blue sky, carrying one person in the basket.

A hot air balloon resembling Smokey Bear, wearing a hat, floats against a blue sky with a person in the basket below.

A large hot air balloon shaped like a dog floats in the sky, with a small basket attached beneath it.

And, of course...

A large bee-shaped hot air balloon floats over a rural landscape, with trees and farmland visible in the background.

Hope you have fun! Heart

I'm still checking the weather trying to decide which day I want to go.  Want to go on a mass ascension day. Disappointing that they didn't launch this morning because of the wind, but it still looks like fun, I'm watching it live on tv.

My friends from California and I went on Friday to the Balloon Fiesta . It was up early and off to the Church to get the bus transportation to balloon Festival . We were in a front areas that the balloons  were being blown up. It was a wonderful morning that we all enjoyed the sites around us. I am sorry to say that Saturday and Sunday the Balloons did not go up.

Thursday we went to Old Town .

Saturday we toured the Turquoise Museum , the Hill Museum , Santa Fe Plaza , dinner at the Shed for dinner .

Sunday the Loreto Church , Breakfast at the French Bakery . Toured Georgia O "Keefe Museum , Palace of the Governors and the Museum. Toured the Plaza and the visited the shops.

Traveled to the Rail Runner . Drove back to Albuquerque to Tula's for lunch then returned home. Monday we toured the Apache  Animals Reserves. Rained all day . lunched in Socorro and did some shopping at Harold's Gift Shop, great Gift Shop.

Much more to tour but we ran out of time.

Love my new state. Come to New Mexico!!

Tuesday my friends departed  for California's tour the Acoma Indian Reservation . They site seed on the return to California . It was. good visit. We did have much rain , we appreciated the rain . It has not been cold here ion New Mexico.
