Long story short we have to go to Florida (from Baltimore area)for a family event mid February.  I usually book my own transportation.  My daughter booked a flight for me.  I have no idea why I let her do it.  I ended up with Frontier Airlines instead of my usual Southwest.  I had her add an extra policy just in case I needed to cancel and also it included free bags-- carry on and checked.   She  thought she was getting me a bargain.  LOL  Well within a week they changed the timing of my return to early morning.  They no longer have customer service. They charge for airport kiosk check in.  I ramble on because I am about to cancel and try another airline.  Going to a travel agent to help me get out of this mess  OR NOT tomorrow. I am leary of this airline.  The way it looks they might make me fly the plane.

Anyone fly Frontier. Anyone have any suggestions.  I also will say the flight is not cheap for two round trip.  OR I CAN JUST KEEP WHAT I IS  BOOKED AND NOT GO THROUGH ALL THIS FUN OF MAKING THE CHANGE.

@bbonnielu.

Frontier has multiple issues including excess charges, schedule "changes" i.e. cancelled flights, late arrivals etc. As a former airline employee I would say your suggestion of changing to Southwest is a good one.

I'm not a fan of Frontier for various convenience issues.  If it's a refundable flight, I'd probably cancel and go with a different airline.  They have a great safety record, but I prefer Delta or JetBlue when I fly.

When you first stated you were going to travel on a previous thread, you received a lot of advice from many of us to be cautious with Frontier.

No one can predict what the schedules or the weather will be like in February.

Perhaps you should wait until the New Year, and explore your options in a more deliberate way.  You may also want to discuss this with your daughter.

Re: Airline Advice

[ Edited ]

I never plan to fly on Frontier again if I can help it! I had a very bad experience with them flying from Mercer airport (Trenton, NJ which is a very small airport) down to Ft. Lauderdale, FL.....both ways!

In addition, if you miss your flight due to cancellation or bad weather depending on their schedule or the airport you're flying out of it could be several days before you can get a flight with them. With Southwest, there are usually multiple flights each day...not one or two every couple of days!

@bonnielu   I have never yet flown Frontier - and with any luck never will.  I have flown SW numerous times into and out of BWI into Florida.  If you decide to change, be sure to check how much availabile space there is into your destination airport when you want to fly at the time you want.

I flew Frontier from Orlando to Philadelphia in September and had no issues.  It was one of those $30.00 tickets and no luggage, just a backpack.  No changes were made by the airline or me.

I had 7 flights on United airlines, this summer with schedule changes for every flight causing 8 to 9 hour layovers. Only because I got on the United customer service line and literally waited almost 3 hours was I able to change the times.

Yes, United has plenty of other flights too but they chose to put me on the one at 6 AM instead of the one I was ticketed at 4 PM.  I am not sure you're going to get any better service on any other airline, but it is hard to cancel a flight and get your money back these days. They give you one out when they change the schedule, if you don't take it, you lose your opportunity to cancel.

Ditto.  Since you ignored the advice the first time I doubt you will listen to any more advice.

I flew Frontier to Florida once. It's "no frills" but it was ok. We don't check bags and it got us there at a great price. Try to cancel and book another flight.
