I do the same - in addition to the wipes, I always ask for paper cups at check in.  One of the newsmagazines years ago installed closed circuit TV in a room and the housekeeping woman used the same rag to clean up all the areas but what happened next was beyond gross.  She wiped the rim of the toilet and picked up the glass cups in the room and wiped them and rinsed.  That lone act did me in - so much so that if I remember, I pack 2 or 3 red solo plastic cups!
