Any time I've bought any configuration of this Space Bag type of deal, whether the bags or these,  I  HATED THEM...   and the last time I promised myself,  NEVER AGAIN.  I've been faithful to that promise for at least the past 5 years.   For me, these things never work.  When they do, it's temporary, and,,,,  even if you put soap in them,  IMO, they come out with a funky smell.   Did I say I HATE THESE THINGS!!!!!

I hope whoever purchases has better luck than I.

I've never had a happy relationship with space bags.  However, I bought a pair of these a year ago and LOVE them!  Usually, after opening and closing the space bags a couple of times, they are shot.  I keep all my guest bedding in one of these superpacks and have opened and sealed them at least six times and they still are perfect.   My only worry is that this confrguration doesn't have the straps which, in the former bags, you'd strap over the compressed plastic bag tight and then zip it the cover up. They've also messed around with the valve.  For good or bad?

well, I went ahead a ordered a set.   I have so many bins, I have no room and need to pitch stuff and consolidate.  bins are bulky.   at least these all fit into the storage bag so they won't slide around on a shelf!

I'm not getting them, but if I were, I'd get gigantic Rubbermaid or Sterlite tubs with locking handles and put a bag in one, fill it, and deflate and seal it while it was in the tub. I'd put another one on top and repeat the process, until the tub was full. Then I'd lock that lid down and probably run a bungee around it for good measure, because those bags are doing to leak over time. Keeping them contained will prevent closet explosion.

@noodleann - That's a really good idea!  I was looking at the TSV.  I have a lot of the vacuum bags and eventually they just expand again, as the seal gives way.  I hadn't thought of doing what you've suggested, but I'm going to give that a try and skip the TSV.  Somehow, I think these "compression" totes would just become more clutter and more money wasted.

I have stored sweaters in mine. I have some fine guage knits and some heavy cotton knits and everything in between. I put tissue paper in between the folds of the finer/thinner sweaters and they store fine.

I could definitely use these.  I have three sets of the Malden mills polar fleece sheets and they take up a huge amount of space when washed and folded.  Like others I have never found a bag that does not expand and those containers always tear and come apart.  If these are really what they say I would love a set.

I ordered 2 sets. Here's why:

A few years back, I ordered a grouping of very expensive Space Bags. I have a bunch of baby clothing/nursery blankets/items that have been passed down/are hand made and I wanted to save them; talking a lot of items and no place to store them. Tried bins but bugs still got inside. I researched and finally bought the set I saw online.

Going on 5 years, no explosion, no air leak, nothing. Flat as a pancake. Last month, I opened them (suggested with type of storage) and no smell, no bugs, NO WRINKLES, perfection.  As the woman said "how you put them IN is how they will come OUT".

Friend of mine has the LAST TSV of this set. Hers is much easier to close and seal. I like how the bag fits into the tote, you stack the products, you suck out the air and the tote is filled. Zip the top and away it goes. My old grouping, like I said, are a bunch of uneven pancakes that slide here and there under the bed; this will be MUCH neater.

I also wanted something to store seasonal pillows in. I rotate them and have MANY. I can't find plastic bins large enough to hold pillows UNLESS I want those huge plastic storage tubs; I don't. I can take the pillows, put them in one bag and ALL will fit (along with seasonal throws) in one tote. So now, by season, I pull out one tote and throws and pillows all together. Blankets, quilts, etc are space-suckers for the same reason; now they'll all be in one tote and under the bed.

I'm donating my plastic bins to my local elementary school: they LOVE these things in the classroom so it's a win-win.

I am looking for something to store comforters and polar fleece sheets away.  They take up too much room in my linen closet!  Tempted to try these.

For those interested in these take a look at the reviews for V34747. This was the last TSV of these space bags. I was interested in them but feel like they will not hold and will expand or the valve will break so I'm going to pass. I'm not sure if this year's version is better, but you all can read the reviews and be informed.
