Re: question regarding the bungee

I think it could be done, but why?

It's not there for function.  The boots have a side zipper.

If you prefer the decorative look of laces, the bungee could be removed.

You should try the no tie shoe laces by Caterpy.  I'm so glad I don't have to tie my shoelaces. They won't stay tied while walking so these are great.

The hiking shoes DH wears has laces like those in it. He put the below in them. I also use these.

the reason...I was thinking in case I needed to loosen or tighten....

Also I haven't had any shoes with bungee...didn't know if the bungee would loosen over time.

thanks all for your answers.

@ruthbe I know what you mean.  I have some Skechers shoes I love, but those darn bungees are tight with no way to loosen them.  They don't loosen over time.  I didn't try removing them since that would require finding the appropriate length shoe laces as I think the standard length would be too long, at least for those particular shoes.  Maybe children's length would've worked.  Sadly, even my Skecherrs with shoe laces now hurt my feet after awhile, so I'm giving up on them.

Re: question regarding the bungee

i would not take the chance on doing that.  if it doesn't work, you cannot return and $80 is a lot to take a chance on.  wait for a better boot to come along.

i personally hate the bungee laces & the contrast stitching which is so dated, old looking and ugly.   so this is a no-go for me.  just give me regular laces, no zipper and same color stitching.
