Honestly i would not pay $400 for a mixer,  especially as long as i have 2 hands LOL.

If you bake a lot and enjoy it, it is the best $400 you will spend!  These machines are a joy to use, beautiful to look at, and make such great bread in far less time and less cleanup.  AND they can make a lot at one time--a real plus if you are stressed for finding time to bake or feed a lot of people.

If it isn't for you fine, but for so many of us it is a great tool, a pretty item for our counters, and a REALLY fun toy!

I do use the spiral dough hook and it was still happening for me.  It was a recipe that called for 10 cups of flour to make two loaves.  It was so frustrating to keep stopping the machine to push the dough down.

violann--I don't know but can you imagine how lovely that would be? I am not a fan of stainless and bored with the black, white  etc. But I do like the black stainless I've seen. I have the bone color appliances-----boring!!!!!!

I just wanted to say, I saw that spiralizer theyre selling for 89 dollars, at Target today for 79 dollars.

PS I love my Kitchen Aid but it was not the price of this one. Mine was under 300 when I got it from Q and it came with the same attachements and glass bowl. Of course its probably a different model but its still amazing.

I wish I could have bought a KA mixer when I was first married years ago.  It would have been used more often then than it does now.   My husband uses it more than I do.  He would prefer to have one that doesn't have the bowl lift feature.  We will not be getting a new mixer at this point in our life.  It is to heavy for me to move so it sits on the counter.

My mother, who's 80, still has HER mother's Kitchen Aid stand mixer from the 30s or 40s!

It's a sound investment!
