Re: Word of Advice Pressure Cooker

What a scam!!

After midnight, the price went up ONLY $5.00 above the "special" TSV price - from $64 to $69.

And almost all colors were advertised as sold out by 10:00 PM last night....now that the price went back up, all colors are back in stock! How can that be so quickly, in just a matter of a few hours.

These TSV's are becoming less "special" more and more....almost wonder why I even watch anymore.

Re: Word of Advice Pressure Cooker

I've had a 5qt cooks essential for many years and have used it quite often with no problems whatsoever! I got an 8 qt technique one last year and also have had no problems with it. If you want to buy it as a Christmas gift, call CS and tell them that and they will annotate it somewhere so it could be returned. I never had a problem returning something that was bought for a gift and didn't work or didn't fit after call CS.

When selling so many pressure cookers there is likely to be some that malfunction and those reviews probably aren't indicative of a major problem. Those with complaints are the most likely to post a review and seem like a small minority considering all sold.

As for the TSV yesterday, probably all colors are now available because of the impulse buyers who decided to cancel.

Re: Word of Advice Pressure Cooker

If you go to The FAGOR web site they sell a separate stainless steel pot for the 6qt pressure cooker ..the pressure cooker looks very similar to the Tecnique.

Re: Word of Advice Pressure Cooker

Better yet, get one that has a recommendation from America's Test Kitchen. I find they really put their stuff through good testing. They recommend a T-Fal, and T-Fall has an excellent warranty and support policy. They said the T-Fal Emeril Pressure Cooker was by far the best on the market. I've had no trouble. I use it all the time.

Speaking of ATK, they came out with Chef Knife recs and I was quite surprised that a cheaper, Victorinox Chef Knife was the top pick. You can spend over $100 on a chef's knife (and a good one will literally last a lifetime) but this one was slightly under $40. I was surprised. However, the name brands like Henkels, Wusthof and Sabatier have all added cheaper lines and you can be fooled now into buying bad knives with "brand names" so the test article was welcome.

Re: Word of Advice Pressure Cooker

I have the latest instant pot with the stainless steel insert which is digital, and I also have the Fissler German Vitaquick non electric pc's of 2 different sizes.

I did not order the dual pc set because I wanted 2 sizes, 2 pc's with 2 pressure cooker tops and accessories.

This Fissler has a top pf the line reputation, a lifetime warranty and they price match too. Shipping is very reasonable and I am very pleased with their overall stellar performance.

The Fissler's both go on my indoor kitchen induction stove, and gas stove. Also works on electric burners, and my portable induction cook tops which I use in the kitchen BBQ cooking and smoking area outdoors.

I love them both, but prefer the options.

Sometime I have very large gatherings, and need more than 1 pc.

I prefer ss pc's now.

They are definitely easiest and safest to use, and clean.

ITA to try them out. Last one I bought was the Cuisinart 6 qt CPC600 because it has a 3 yr warranty with good reviews.

I'm thinking of getting the Instant Pot instead.

Just ordered mine! YAY!

I've been eyeing one for the past 2 weeks or so, just never got around to ordering it, that is until this morning.

I found amazon's price to be the cheapest at about $130, no shipping.
