@Fribwl wrote:@Goldengate8361 . LOL. I remember it well. The Veta, Vita, Vitamin. Saw all of her shows.
However I have A Vitamix (Blender 7500). And I love it. Have used it quite a bit over the years. When my grandson used to make smoothies, he liked the Vitamin growl(something David said.) To this day, I puree my soups in it and make fruit drinks.
The growl is pretty neat to hear, and when they have the lid removed during ice cream making, it's impressive to see.
I mainly use mine for thick smoothies, basically use the same thing, but with smoothies made with plain Greek yogurt and frozen fruit, and kale very small amount of water, no ice added.
Instead of making ice cream, I make frozen yogurt the same way as my smoothie, except without kale, and let it run longer until I hear the growl.
Tastes delicious, and you get the benefit of protein from yogurt. The growl, I believe it was the original presenter, Bob Warden, decades ago, who came up with the "growl" description, unless David said it before then.
It should not growl except when making extremely thick things like ice cream; that is usually when they talk about the "growl", letting people know that's normal when you're making ice cream. That's what you want to hear; when it gets to that point, it's finished, and you can turn off the machine.
If your machine begins to growl and you're not making something very, very thick, then you need to contact VITAMIX.
In my opinion, VITAMIX is the best in its class. I have the Ascent version. I'm seriously considering getting the TSV. Sometimes I want to make one smoothie and don't want to use my VITAMIX for one smoothie.
They used to have self-detect cups and bowls for the Ascent series. However, there was a problem with those, and unfortunately, instead of correcting the situation, they discontinued them. Now they sell smoothie cups for after it's made.
I'm deciding between something like the Ninja or Nutra Bullet, etc., to make single-serve smoothies, or get the TSV.
The TSV does have quite a bit more wattage than many. If not, almost all immersion blenders.
The TSV has 625W. Many other immersion blenders here, and other stores don't even have 200 W, some may have in the 300 range, so it is powerful for those who would like to purchase it instead of a VITAMIX, though the VITAMIX can do more things, but if those things aren't anything you would use, then this has increased power for smoother gravy's, sauces, smoothies, plus more things I'm sure.
The TSV is a great deal; I'd be able to do more. Other places have it for the same price; however, it's only the immersion blender, not the other accessories.

Ya know, I thought being this close to the holidays, it was going to be a VITAMIX 7500 or Ascent, both series are excellent machines, actually, all of their machines from the early ones up to now are excellent.
You can't go wrong with any of them.
And I thought they would offer either 64 and 48-oz containers, or 64-oz and the dry container.
I purchased the 7500 from QVC for myself years ago and sold that, and purchased the Ascent through VITAMIX, and I've purchased three more from QVC and Costco for some of my children.
They've been different models. They get used a lot, and my children have been very happy with them.
The TSV is fabulous though!

@skittles2I started out with a NutriBullet and upgraded to a Vitamix blender and would never go back to a NutriBullet. The Vitamix is just so superior in grinding things up smoothly and not leaving chunks or grit when making a smoothie from fruits and veggies, especially things like kale. The NutriBullet's blades got dull fast too.
Thanks for your review of the NutriBullet. I don't know anyone who's had a Nutribullet or Ninja, but they were talked about a lot, so I thought maybe I should try one of those.
Years ago, I purchased a VITAMIX 7500 from QVC used every day for many years. It was a great machine, but when the ASCENT came out, I wanted it because of self-detect and also had self-detect cups and bowls, which they did away with because of problems.
I really wish they would figure out a way to bring back the self-detect cups and bowls that would solve my problem. I wouldn't have to use the big container
I love my VITAMIX. However, when I want to make only one smoothie, I'd rather use something smaller.
That's why I think I'm going to buy the TSV, and I can mix it up in a smaller container, easier to clean, not that the large VITAMIX is hard to clean, it's not.
Everything about it, at least for me, is easy. It makes life easier. And I'm all about making life easier these days.
