Oh please....$159 for an immersion blender.   I paid $30...30 years ago and it is still going strong.  Check the big A....$34 with all the accessories and 1000 watts.

Ya know, during 2 different presentations, he speedily said he needed to change out the power head, to another one - First time he said it "blew out", 2nd time, just quickly changed to another power head- Why the heck and why is that happening??? Buyers want to know- !

Seeing the TSV, I realized that I already have an immersion blender that I purchased from Amazon in 2019....see how often that I used it?  Maybe a few times and I had forgotten that I even had one!

I checked my orders from Amazon and sure enough I did buy it.  However, I have no idea where it is.  Mine is a Braun and I paid $8.84 for it but I had Amazon points which covered most of the cost.  Today it goes for $64.95.

I already have a regular Vitamix which I use occasionally and I'm sure their immersion blender is great but I have no need for one.

Yep, already have owned a very good one w/acc's for years.

Note:  I'd rather use my old blender though, truth be told. Cat Happy

I have an immersion blender that I bought in 2006. I'm pretty sure it was under $20. I can count on one hand the times I've used it.

I wish I had this for when I make a big pot of homemade Cincinnati chili. However, I only make it once a year, so I don't want to spend this much money.

@kaiwahini   Shawn made it sound like she blends all her ingredients up completely for her split pea soup.  Now she admitted she's not a cook at all, so I give her some grace.

But you may want to check recipes online first.  Split pea soup should be perfectly chunky (not all smoothed out), with chunks of the ham, carrots, onions, and celery (potatoes are optional).  The internet has many great recipes that are all pretty much the same.

Last evening when Shawn tasted her pea soup, she said it was chunkier than she likes it, but said she was too hungry and excited to wait for it to be smoother.

I have had pea soup served both creamy and smooth and also the chunky version. Either way is correct depending on how you prefer it.

I have also eaten it made made without ham..vegetarian  version.

I'm still using my Osterizer blender that was a wedding gift in 1968. Does it all and weighs a ton because.....well, you know, it's from back in the day.

I'm a gadget girl, but I have an immersion blender and it never gets used, so I don't think I'd use it if I got it.
