Re: Vitamix Immersion Blender TSV. 10/20/24

Does anyone remember the recipe he had for the rum chata? I should have recorded the show. I thought the recipe would be under the recipes for the blender but it isnt. I just remember when they did the demo with the rum chata it sounded so good! Smiley Happy

i bought mine at Costco a couple of years ago and paid $120.

so this is/was a great deal.

vitamix is an awesome company and they stand by their products.

i don't think you can compare pricing of what u bought 10+ years ago.

i use mine more than i thought and now that it's just us two, use more than ever.

I bought an immerson blender prob 30 years ago from HSN--was called the DO-IT ALL and I used the bejeezus out of it--had it until just a few years ago and it still ran  fine. It had so many things to it, 2 wands,  whisks, jars for chopping, container jars, beaters ---OMG--was a huge amount of stuff. One wand was plastic and the other was longer and made of metal. I think I ended up, on accident, throwing the wands away somehow--so was kind of hard to use-Woman Wink I bought another one from AMZ --an off brand and it's---ok-ish---don't use it much. Has most of the things the TSV does.It is very handy but there is a bit of a learning curve.

I am sending it back.  The motor is very very heavy and big around, and the two button operation is awkward.  Nowhere does it tell you how heavy it is.  I was shocked,  But looking back on it all of the promotional and demos touting one handed operation are with large men handling it.  Yea, easy for them to operate.  But a me sized and aged woman, nope.  Getting the attachment on was a chore and pushed my handstrength.  So back it goes.

It weighs less than 3 pounds.  A motor as powerful as this one, is not going to weigh 5 ounces.   What were you expecting?

I can see your point re the weight, @Shawnie .  I almost got one but the cost point per use couldn't justify such a purpose.  So, I settled for a cheap brand(under $20) from Amazon without the bells and whistles.  It can't chop ice, bones(! ?!), or coffee beans, but I'll just use it for soups, whipping cream, etc. At my age and a 'small-sizedwoman', I'm not into heavy-duty cooking!Woman Frustrated
