How many here think of Nigel in Spinal Tap when David says..."It has ELEVEN settings"???
Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
Marty DiBergi: I don't know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.
It goes to ELEVEN!!!!

@Othereeeen I have no idea what you're talking about, creative though it may be.

Please watch Spinal Tap if you haven't seen it! Brilliant satire of rock:

One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies.

I didn't watch presentation, no need for item. Watched video after your post and yes, hysterical. Great connection.

I agree that if you don't know what she is talking about, it seems nutty but if you know, then it is brilliant. She knew when she heard the presentation that it reminded her of a much-heralded movie.
It was in the MOVIE section, I believe, so if you were looking there and you saw Spinal Tap, you probably knew but if you were just reading random posts, like you did not see that.

It's the scene from "This is Spinal Tap" rock band parody movie, where Nigel, a bass player in rock band, explains why HIS amplifiers ( "amps" in rock parlance) go to volume level 11, when all others stop at 10 (Like on old stereo volume knobs that went from 0-10)...
You can see the out take on You Tube if you haven't seen the movie.
Rob Reiner is the actor questioning Nigel in this skit about why his amps go to eleven.
I couldn't resist....!!!
Kudos to all who recognize the skit!!!
The jist is.....the amp goes to 11 to make it seem better than all the others that stop at 10, even though there's no perceptible difference at that point.
Much like the TSV.
I'm waiting for the Oster 15 model....4 more exagerratedly different "settings' when what this thing does is heat up food!!!
