Do these have any smells that would transfer to anything put in them? I know usually after a few days most smells are gone. 

I want to store yarn in one and blankets in another one.

Any negatives from those who own them?

I’ve ordered three sets in the past and never noticed any odors. I use one to store throws, one for toys, one for ottoman in bedroom, and the bench for miscellaneous storage. Love them.

I really like the bench.  Do any of you have cats that would rub and shed?.  How's the cleaning?  My 2 girls stay off the furniture for the most part, but I know they'd love to rub against this bench.

Just use a spray as someone else noted.  It should be fine.

I have two long hair cats (recently shaved) and I use the gleaner to pick up hair If necessary. My bench is made of the faux leather material.  I love these for storage.

I have two of the larger storage chests and have never noticed an odor. They're very sturdy and are ideal for storing just about anything, especially for the price.
