Presumeably people know that Curtis Stone and the Rastelli clan are not standing on a dock ,catching salmon for QVC or HSN.

This salmon is good...don't get me wrong.

But it's like air fryers. Companies buy from the fish processor, who prepares to thier specs, and they slap their name on it and call it Rastelli or Curtis Stone or Joe Blow's salmon!!!!

Now that I have both brands side by side in my freezer....they are packed exactly the same, look the same, are the same.

Liek air fryers..surely no one thinks Emeril, Paula Deen, Ninja, Curtis Stone, the copper stuff guy, or any of the myriad other air fryer "chefs" are working hard in their dimly lit garage at night, bent over a work bench,  tongue sticking out, making improvements on "their" air fryer!!!

Nope. Specs sent to China or Asia, price to manufacture is agreed upon, and voila!!

Slap a plastic decal with Emeril, Paula Deen or the myraid others and call it "______'s air fryer!!!!".

Sell a million, collect ten million, do not pass GO!!!

Same with the Faroe Island salmon.

I thought the wild caught was best but I could be wrong.

@Goodie2shoes   We have purchased these many times.  We love them.  They are nice center cut,  no bones no skin.   No fishy taste,  even people specifically in my household who do not like fish,  like these.  Sometimes I forget to take them out the day before,  doesn't matter  they cook up from frozen in the airfryer.

The seasoning packet it comes with is delicious as well.  We use it on fries and eggs and even veggies.   I have 2 left in my freezer so I am excited to get more. Hope this helps.

Concern: At my quality grocery ( and other seafood distributors) are Marked farm raised) -- I will not purchase.

Fed. ( my personal concern of reasoning ).

Not a meat eater, but some of family is.

IT IS Open range or wild caught.

They are definitely farmed and not wild caught, but the captive environment has free flowing, almost pristine waters. It mimics a natural habitat, more than other 'farmed' fish situations, which can be downright nasty. I've seen some videos of awful sites.

I researched that Faroe salmon is of superior quality, even sushi grade. They mentioned some food pellets that are fed, but they also dine on Krill and other nutritious foods.

I'd prefer wild caught whenever possible, but I think this is the next best thing, considering the high price of wild caught we're facing now, particularly in my location. Besides, the last wild caught salmon I had, made me wonder if it really was.

@skatting44, yes that's not uncommon with salmon. It's perfectly safe to eat. I believe it's a more fatty area under the skin and has the highest amount of omega 3.
