People have very different ideas of what looks good and what doesn't.

A few months back, I ordered a pair of the Spanx Look at Me leggings that were in the as-is section.  They had very, very good reviews.  I could hardly believe it when I rec'd them and opened the package.

IMO the material was digusting.  They looked horrible on me but even if they hadn't, the material just felt gross and there was no way I was going to get past that.  I packed them up and sent them back.

I thinkfor the most part, with these leggings you need to go up one size.  I've not seen any presentations of them so cannot comment about what anyone looked like.  I just know how I felt about them.

I have seen many 40+ women who look fantastic in leggings and I see many, many people of all ages who look fantastic in crop pants.  I really wish people would quit making blanket statements about ALL articles of clothing.  If you can't pull them off, that's okay, but don't say EVERYONE looks horrible in something just because you do.

The inventor of Spanx is now one of the 'sharks' on Shark Tank.  With only inventing one product, she is now a Venture Capitalist.  I have never owned a pair due to the non-breathable material. (I see how she got rich if the TSV is anyone's idea of a valued price point).

I have some cropped leggings with pockets (perfect for my phone) from Talbots that I will be using for exercise walking along with a cotton tee. I also have a J. Crew ankle legging. Both were less expensive than the TSV, which is a plus. I don't have tunics, so I will be showing a bit of me.  I love them.

Re: Spanx TSV- oh my

[ Edited ]

I look fine in these leggings, and I have the camo pair.  I like them.  I like the rouge/rose, but I'm not buying them.  I have so many clothes and have got to pair down.  I think the price is reasonable, but I don't want to pay shipping.

I also don't think the models look awful in them.  I wear them with longer tops and look great in leggings.  I don't understand why some women on these boards think every woman looks awful in leggings.  They don't.

I also like the material.

They are selling, so as long as they do, QVC will continue to offer them.

They remind me of the “Emperor’s new clothes”   The models look naked with painted bodies.

They are fine for the gym, but they do show every bump, lump and outline of the legs and butt and.....????.  They are not modest attire for a grown women.

There will always be women who will wear anything and convince themselves that they look nice and the clothing is flattering, and nothing will convince them otherwise.

They are free to wear what they want to, as is everyone else.

there is nothing immodest about the shape of a woman's leg. If worn properly, with a longer top, leggings are a great look.

Jayne Browne is on right now and she .looks great in the leggings.

I have the spanxx long leggings and they are very nice. I like the fact they don't have the skinny elastic waistband.

@mercyMewrote:

The TSV is mainly nylon.  WWC at least has cotton, perhaps poly as well.

I checked the reviews--80% are negative--sizing is way off.  According to the size chart, I take an XL and I wear Sm. in all other leggings.  One reviewer did go up 2 sizes, and it was a "miss."  Ladies beware!

i am not sure which reviews you are checking? the reviews on these overall are a 4.0 so far with 33 total reviews. the longer version has 3.3 stars and 730 reviews.

i own these in the longer version in every color. i am usually a medium or large in qvc sizes and i buy these in an XL. love them.......very comfortable yet great support.

Watch Shawn on PMStyle tonite... she will vouch for them..."I have 2 of the black, 1 of the camo, etc..."

I bought 2 pairs to wear to yoga.  I have the longer length that I really like, so I hope I like the cropped pair for the warmer months, as it can get very hot in the room.  I especially like the wide waistband so nothing digs into me when I'm moving around.

I always wear a longer loose top with them so I don't have to worry about showing too much on my way in and out of the building.

I do go up 2 sizes (usually a med, I get an XL in Spanx).
