I hope QVC is not resorting to misleading presentations. Had I not looked on-line, would not have known that the cotton to polyester content on these sheets is almost 50-50. That is not the way it was first presented at midnight. Kirstin said it was mostly cotton, and then later more cotton than poly (which I guess was somewhat accurate). But these sheets have a ton of polyester in them and at least while I was watching the presentation, the exact percentages were never mentioned. This is a disservice to those who do not have a computer and can look on-line!

I don't see how QVC is "resorting" to misleading presentations. How is Kirsten's description any more misleading than you saying they're "almost 50-50"? Kirsten didn't lie, they are "mostly" cotton. In the listing description, it states 52% cotton, 48% polyester. Nowadays, I also don't see where a very large segment of the population wouldn't have access to checking out the details online, be it via a desktop computer, tablet, or a phone. Sure they're maybe some, but I wouldn't necessarily think people in that position would be doing much TV shopping either. JMO

Anytime someone tries to sell you a 2000 thread count sheet set for $50, it probably isn't a high quality sheet. It pays to do some research on sheets and thread counts before you purchase them. It isn't a bargain if it shrinks horribly or pills when you wash them.

@jeanL I disagree: 52% is not mostly cotton in my book, 75% perhaps. I would certainly not buy 52% cotton - 48% polyester sheets... If people have no access to a computer and rely on her statement, then this is a gross misrepresentaiton. And what do you imply with your last sentence??? I have a very good friend who does not have access to a computer, iphone etc. and she shops a lot on QVS/HSN via phone. Should she therefore stop?

I thought the same thing.
Even in the title "cottony sheets" I thought ooo!, cotton sheets and went to look online and saw 52%/48% with polyester- not what I expected.
I agree, they shouldn't try to represent them as mostly cotton.
I've also read that a high thread count does not necessarily make for great sheets.

I just bought new sheets from The Company Store and they were no where near $50. They were close to $200 (before coupon) for a quality set. They are 100% cotton and I love them. I once bought a set for around $50 at one of those home shows that claimed to be cotton with a huge thread count. I used them once and they were like sleeping in a baggie.

Decided not to order. Returns are too costly. I loved and still have many of Q's Northern Nights sheets.

It is not up to the consumer to have to resort to searching for the details of the product being offered, especially when it comes to exactly what the product is made with. While the presenter was correct when she said more cotten, (52% to 48%) that's close to crossing the line. Since she glossed over the details it was a red flag for me so I did go on line to check fabric content.
No way do I want to sleep on 48% polyester sheets in the summer and I shouldn't have to go online to find out. catch8, I agree with you 100%

I don't care for the cotton/poly either. I decided to cancel my order for the TSV. A return would be quite costly.
