I have not seen any scratching, when using Scrub Daddy. I use it

mainly to clean my gas stove top or any surface that needs alittle

scrubbing. I find with Scrub Daddy, I don't have to worry about

scratching. I keep a few around for this purpose only.

Wanted to say, they won't work on the bottom of pots and pans.

They don't clean burnt grease and scorch marks.

They don't last very long so when they spoke on 2 months you're lucky if they last 2 weeks. Initially I was pleased at the results I got, but they started to crumble after a few uses. My question is that a product that is toted as being able to scrub through the "wost stuck on etc" last more than a few uses? Shouldn't it be durable? It seems like an oxymoron.

Sorry. Just can not get excited about a sponge.  Can not stand to watch the presentations let alone buy such garbage.

I love my scrub daddy products - but they're really scrubbers instead of sponges which is probably why they've added the scrub mommies to their line. I definitely need to use some other cloth to finish my counters, but I pretty much do that also if I use some other sponge because I don't feel as if an ordinary sponge is really all that clean and I reach for something to disinfect after I scrub.

I truly do not need the new version at this time -  but I like the addition of the absorbent side which certainly looks as if it will wash more easily than an ordinary sponge does.

@PINKdogWOOD -- i use the sponge daddy a lot and I buy them from QVC.  The reason is price.  When you buy in bulk they come to about $2.50 per sponge.  In the stores they are $4.00 each.  The shipping is nominal and then I have a supply on hand.

@LonestarBabs - The fact that they are hard was so you can use them to scrub off hard to remove stuff.  The appeal of the new Sponge Mommy is now they have included a soft sponge side.  It seems as though people either really like them or they don't.  I really like them.

@violann - I use and like the Sponge Daddy.  But, I can see how some people don't like it because of the material it is made of.  It is a hard styrofoam type material.  When you run it under cold water it gets hard and you can use it for hard to remove stuff.  When you run it under warm water it gets soft like a sponge, however it's still not quite like a regular sponge.  The new Sponge Mommy solves that problem by putting a soft sponge side one side.  The next time I need to order I'm going to try them. 

(I wonder since they have Sponge Daddy on one side and Sponge Mommy on the other side, will there be Sponge Kids in the future?)

@SeaMaiden -- I guess one woman's garbage is another woman's treasure.  I really like these sponges and the price is good.  I guess if you use or like the TSV then you would think it's garbage.  But, there have been other really bad TSV's in my opinion.

I've only used the originals - still have some.  I agree with you though - about quality downgraded on some items - it may just be me, but, I've found this to happen with food; I used to buy the potstickers, then cancelled AD 'cause last time, tossed them out.  So, it's too bad, but think sometimes it does happen - IMHO.

I bought a couple a while ago from a local supermarket. They were on a reduced cart for $1.00. They are not all that great, and I certainly wouldn't pay $2.50 or more for them.

ETA - These sponges probably cost about 50 cents to make.
