Don't keep much with the Q much these days, but I did stumble on this morning. I couldn't believe the prices.
Honestly I know its 2020 but come on.
I saw many chains, no thicker than angel hair pasta for 600.00 bucks.
Little band rings 3-4 hundred dollars.
Although there were some sell outs, it sure took the fun away for many that used to purchase.....

I saw a couple of things that I maybe wanted. I just couldn't do it, remembering all that I once had, for so much less. There was a pair of 3 row gold tube earrings for over $200.00. They looked very much like a pair I once had. I remember paying $79.00 for them. No way!

I used to buy silver since I liked it and it was less expensive. I saw a ring for almost $200, for silver! I buy costume jewelry now.

The gold I have is all the gold I need. Sterling silver is what l will buy if I want jewelry.

I can think of many other things I want or need right now and gold jewelry isn't one of them. Even if money was not an issue I would choose not to buy it because it does not please me like it used to when I was younger and more involved with the social side of life. I just don't wear it like I use to.

I DO remember the good old days of gold! Gold is horribly expensive now and I can't touch the prices. I so enjoyed watchng the Q's gold and gemstone shows in the past. They were like watching treasure chests of goodies! I especially loved the Gold Rush shows -- so entertaining and fun! Back then you could afford to indulge in a few new items. I am glad I bought what I did but lament that I did not buy a lot more! I used to keep lists of item numbers that I was going to buy at a later date. Well, that never happened!
And silver - it was so cheap. Now--- the silver prices are way higher than the gold prices used to be!
No fun in watching these gold shows when you know you can't afford anything!

The price of gold is very high, though not as high as 2011.
On Friday, gold closed at 1572.00 per troy oz.
Silver closed at 18.11 per troy oz.
Gold hit about 1900.00 per ounce in 2011, Silver, @ 36.00 an ounce.
Platinum closed at 1004.00 ounce on Friday.
There are 31.1 grams per ounce.
Metals are so high that is why jewelry is so high!!!!
There are refining costs, and labor to consider too before it even becomes jewelry!

I agree. This looks lIke QVC 1995. It looks so old fashioned. They rarely have jewelry shows anymore.
